Six stars to the staff if I could. The hotel is cozy. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable. The staff were so kind and caring. They were so accommodating and treated me with kindness when I arrived early. I enjoyed the location as it is about a 15-30 minute walk to the main shopping areas. It is not too walkable to the popular tourist areas if it is too cold.

Excellent experience at Hôtel Bonne Nouvelle. Well-situated in the city, close to metro lines 4, 8, and 9. Lively area with restaurants and bars open late (but not so close that the noise is disruptive when you’re back in your hotel room). I stayed in the single room which was clean and compact. The bathroom got humid, even after keeping the window open, but otherwise it was perfect.

Our 1st floor standard twin room was simple but perfect for our mother and daughter 3 night stay. It was spotlessly clean and quiet with comfortable beds, its own temperature control and an opening window. The bathroom was very small but manageable. The position of the hotel was convenient for the Metro to the Eiffel Tower, and for walking to the rest of the famous Paris sights and shopping areas.

At first, the hotel seemed charming and had the appeal of a small boutique property. However, our experience quickly went downhill. The building is quite old, the rooms are small, and the entire hotel had a musty, damp smell that made the stay uncomfortable. The continental breakfast was very limited, and it was disappointing that the room did not include basic amenities such as a safe or a small refrigerator. We also had a major issue with the front desk staff. The young woman at the desk argued with us about our room type — we had booked a premium room (which is supposed to be larger), but she insisted on placing us in a smaller one while still charging the higher rate. After several frustrating calls with Expedia, it was finally confirmed that we were correct. Only then did she contact her manager and admit the mistake. The entire situation was handled poorly and left us feeling unwelcome. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again. Very disappointing experience.

Very clean, neat room after somewhat tired hallways. The elevator was tiny but worked and we were happy to have it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again for the price and location.

I didn’t realize when booking that my bathroom would be a ladders climb up! They should have been much more clear as not everyone could handle that climb, I could but didn’t enjoy doing it in the middle of the night or when arriving back and really needing it. Also, NO internet service in that room. It worked elsewhere in the hotel and the staff pretended to care and check on it but didn’t do anything about it not working. So not a place to spend a week in. Even for a day I would have gone elsewhere. I left three stars because the location was fairly convenient.

Great location. Small rooms but that’s expected of just about any hotel like this in Paris. Staff was very accommodating. Lots of dining options around the hotel. Within walking distance or bike ride to almost anything you want to do in Paris. Close to metro. Would stay again.

The hotel is an older property and the room and bath were very small. Not so small that we couldn't make due, but small. Also the air conditioner controls would not allow a temp below 21° C and a couple nights were a bit warm in the room. The elevator barely fits two people, but at least they had one. Right around the corner, a few blocks away, is a delightful area with dining and shopping for pastries, chocolates, ect. Fairly oae to the Chellet de Halles train underground. Uber would pick us in from the hotel when we needed a ride. Our drivers canceled 6 times. We ended up having the front desk call for a taxi. Price wasn't terrible but better research may have found us a larger room in a more modern hotel.
