My wife and I recently booked a stay at the Radisson Beach Resort in Panama City for our 45th anniversary. We booked this through Expedia. We booked this for a 10 day stay but unfortunately we had a close friend that passed away and had to cut our trip short by two days to travel back for the funeral. I checked with the front desk at the hotel to see if they could refund these two days due to our circumstances and they said that I would have to go back through the booking company I used. I contacted Expedia and they advised that they would contact the hotel to see if they would approve this refund. Expedia contacted me back and said the manager had denied this refund. We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past when it was the Legacy and always enjoyed staying here due to the location, easy access and close proximity to shopping and restaurants. Obviously, we had many options to choose from in selecting a location for our anniversary and vacation. Also, contacted the hotel a week or so before our arrival to se if we could get a room on an upper floor away from the elevators. When we checked in, we were able to get into a room a little earlier but was on the 5th floor and right next to the elevator. The room did have a large balcony with access from both the sitting area and the bedroom. The elevators were not clean and the doors needed cleaning. The beach level lobby was not clean. The staff was courteous.

Staff charged me double the rate twice. I paid through Expedia and showed them my account . They refused to refund my money or acknowledge their mistake. I will never stay in this hotel . It was also dirty and needs to be completely renovated.

Arrival and check-in were fine. Got to our room. The door was a jar. Got our bags put up and found the room to be very straight and tidy but the floor was extremely dirty. The air condition unit outside sounded like a jet airplane starting up when it kicked on and the dirt within the unit was terrible and was part of the reason the floor stayed dirty. On the second night we found a very large roach above the bed and was disposed of. The third Day when we came out of the room there was the terrible smell of a dead rodent outside the room that stayed for the next 3 days. The area did not seem to be cleaned outside. The door of the room has trash built up and the smell was extremely terrible. Location was excellent. Beach access was excellent. The staff was very friendly. It was just the fact the room would not stay clean because of the ventilation and no sealing under the doors, therefore, bugs, sand and dust came into the room constantly.

Room is old needs remodel and proper bedding! Sheets wouldn’t stay on and bed skirt was an absolute disaster. You can hear everything but the ocean waves! When a door shuts you feel the whole building shake and the elevator is heavy and also a nightmare. Definitely doing more research next time we visit for lodging. Views were spectacular but that’s about all there is.

Last time

There is very limited parking, was told after complaining that I could park in the restaurant parking lot next door. Not a good feeling leaving it off the motel property all night. Both a/c units very loud when running. We could not sit on the balcony due to the abundance of people smoking pot and cigarettes. This was our third stay here but it’s the last. Extremely loud on our floor late at night.

Not the same stay!

This is the 4th time staying here. Love the location and 11th floor balcony is awesome view. This year our stay wasn’t as appealing as in the past. Arrived Sunday and that night we seen 4 roaches. I replied to a txt I received regarding any needs throughout my stay to txt that number and front desk would take care of it. We never heard back. I ended up seeing 4-5 more throughout our stay. We requested coffee and wash cloths and never received. I made a special trip to front desk to get coffee and requested wash cloths again. I was told they would have to get them sent up and we never did receive them. Spoke to another guest on the elevator and she was dealing with the same thing. Parking is always an issue but we liked the area and layout of the rooms but after this trip, I don’t know if we will be back.
