The pilot light was on for the wall heater and giving off heat. No working air conditioning, but a wall fan was needed to be on the whole night because of the heat coming from the heater.

Place has seen better days

First off place was cheap, got the room for 43 bucks so there’s that. No air conditioning, just a fan bolted to the wall. Bathroom floor was dirty, but the bed was clean and comfortable, which is the most important thing. Office wasn’t even open in the morning, just a key drop box outside, so no coffee or anything like that.

Room was clean, but a little beat up. Stained and snagged carpet. Repairs that didn’t match. Oscillating fan mounted on wall over bed with very bright power lights. Part of the sonesta chain. I’d have thought it would have been nicer.

Clean but loud and warm

Stay was very nice and the rooms were clean. There is No air conditioning which I hadn’t noticed. The outdoor temp was not warm but the rooms were and quite muggy. Just be aware. Also we chose a room in the second floor to avoid walking noise that I think backfired because I suspect it made the traffic noise worse since he had to leave the sliding g door open.

Good location, upper rooms have a good sized balcony which is uncommon, some ambient road noise if when windows open. It’s an older building showing its age (dated single pane aluminum sliding windows, popcorn ceilings, no air conditioning). Pool “closed indefinitely” but no explanation (it looked very clean, lighted at night). It’s okay for the price, basic, nothing great, nothing terrible, rooms have refrigerators.

it was close to all the activities we wanted to do in Monterey (short driving distance). The people who work there were very kind and even tracked us down when we left our car door open at night. The room isn't in brand new condition, but everything felt clean and we felt safe and comfortable with clean linens and sheets. we had everything we needed and the oversized mini-fridge kept our food very cold - even re-froze our ice packs daily. This isn't the fanciest hotel, but I would 100% recommend it for anyone looking for safe, comfortable and clean.

The refrigerator had a constant high pitched loud hum. It was still audible with the TV on and the volume turned up. The bathroom fan was even louder. The road noise was never ending due to the sliding glass doors facing a 5 lane main road. The property is run down and old.
