We needed three beds and were located on the basement floor. Our window looked directly into the next room so we couldn’t open the windows and it was very very hot in our room. Staff was friendly. Very basic room.

Slept well. Good hot breakfast. However, please note: No elevator/lift. Must carry your luggage upstairs. Smallest hotel room I have ever seen. Non-potable water in the room. No air conditioning. Sloped shower floor. Be careful! Generous refund policy - but not within 2 days of arrival. No refund or partial refund if you arrive 1 day late due to airline delays. Neighbood is nice - next to Paddington square.

This was our first stay in London so we did t know what to expect. Hotel was easy to find and in a nice location, lots of dining and shopping conveniences in the area. The beds were a little firm for our liking, the bathroom was not located in the room, we had to walk oustide oyr room and down the hallway, which was very different for us but we managed. Our room did not have a fridge until the last night. We came back from our day and noticed one in the hallway sitting area. Overall our stay was ok.

Provided a fan and a fridge which was great, given the heatwave temperatures. Top floor room and minimal noise from other rooms. Easy (online) checkin. Shame the area is messy and lacking a good clean up.

Small but comfortable room in a convenient location. Just steps from Paddington Station and a lot of places to eat, this was a good place with a comfortable bed for me to explore London.

What a find! Comfortable room. Good AC. Small mini fridge keeps things cool plus many provided items. Bed is clean and perfect for sleeping. The room itself is beautiful with exposed ceilings and tasteful decor. I have zero complaints.

on check in i unpacked my “carry-on” & used my phone re- charing chord & plug. then straight from check-out , check to ship port check in & entry to cabin, without pre opening “carry on”at any time, on actual actual opening on board, plug & chord was not there. being on board i had no means of advising Shakespeare of the missing. days later when communication possible, Shakespeare advised it was not there. i leave it to you to imagine or explain how/when/where it so miraculously disappeared into god knows where. would this make a “best seller” detective story?? ha ha .

Property was great and just as described online. Only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is the reception staff was quite rude. Thankfully after checking in, no additional contact with them was needed.

Absolute misery due to temperature and humidity

We stayed here during a hot spell and while there were fans in the room, we were unable to open the windows more than about 4". Despite temperatures outside dipping back down to the 70s, we were unable to get the temperature and humidity in our room back below the mid 80s. When staff were consulted, they said there was nothing they could do. I finally found a window that could be opened in the hall and at least cooled the hallway down. Then, by holding the fire doors open manually for minutes at a time, we were able to get room temperatures down into the 80s. We ended up spending an entire night sitting on the couches in the lobby or sitting outside on the stoop because policy would not allow them to open doors or windows to get the heat out. The second night was still uncomfortably hot but we were able sleep at least. The shower had a low pressure wand at chest height. Cold showers helped a bit as long as we didn't get back out. Completely ruined our entire London visit.

This property was pretty much what i expected based on reviews and the price we paid. Nothing special, but it was clean and perfect location for what we needed. Walking distance to hyde park and very close to paddington station. Staff were friendly at breakfast. Family room with bunk bed, maybe a new bunk bed should be looked into as the rail was loose on the top bunk but my children are old enough to not fall off so it was ok for us. Rooms were very very warm, fan on constantly but still too warm. Scaffolding up outside due to getting the windows re-painted, so slightly off putting on first impression. But I would consider staying here again, just not in the warmer weather.

No drinkable water available in the room. Loud noisy subway sounds. No air conditioning and an inadequate fan. Unable to open the windows far enough to ventilate the room generally poor ventilation I would rate this property a three out of 10 the worst property I’ve stayed in many many many years.

Even better than expected! As long as you're prepared to walk up a lot of stairs (and pay for breakfast) this hotel is for you. Staff were lovely, housekeeping came daily, rooms were quiet, front doors were locked at night (staff would come and let in latecomers). We were very happy and would definitely come again. Not (young) family friendly or accessibility friendly because of all the flights of stairs. Hauling your suitcase to your room is a production! If you are fine with stairs this is your pick.

Close to the tube station and not ridiculously expensive which we our main priorities, but the stairs were very difficult to manage (up to the 4th floor) and the water in room is non potable. Didn’t expect either of those things. Made our stay a bit difficult.

The staff were all lovely and attentive, and I could never complain about the cleanliness of the room. My one gripe as a budget traveller is that there was no elevator, and I was on the fourth floor. This is likely on me for not reading up on that specific amenity, but with a massive suitcase, I was pretty hard put upon to get safely to my room. The stairwells get progressively more narrow, so getting my suitcase to the top was incredibly tough. If you're going for the single budget room, I'd recommend either packing lightly or spending the extra money for a room on a lower floor. One wall of the shower stall had a bit of a crack in it, but no water leaked and the bathroom was very clean. I think this is a fairly old hotel, but the breakfast was hearty and the rooms quiet. For a safe place to sleep near Paddington Station on a budget, I'd still recommend it.

Well, where to start? With the non existent customer service when we arrived, or the surly begrudging nature of the staff when asked to help with luggage? Add to this the bathroom, so badly configured that it was impossible to sit on the loo without having to tuck one’s legs right under the sink!….plus nowhere to hang clothes apart from a 6 inch piece of metal piping affixed to the wall, sporting 2 coat hangers, masquerading as a wardrobe! The room was also so small there was nowhere to place luggage but on the beds, together with a minute fridge sitting on the floor opening to the wall, making it impossible to use!! Thankfully another hotel a few doors down the road provided us with slightly better accommodation after the first night, for the remainder of our stay!
