Staff was very friendly and always helpful. However, the villas only have Air Conditioning in the bedrooms. The rest of the villa is basically outside with only shutter type doors and walls letting the hot outside air blow through day and night. Also sound goes in and out as well. There is little privacy. Only one TV in the main room which means ALL OF YOUR NEIGHBORS will hear your TV too. I tried watching TV at 10 pm but neighbors called the management to complain about me! I had to slide the couch to within 5 feet of the TV so I could hear it and not disturb anyone outside my villa. Very frustrating! Then there's the ants. Everywhere. If you set down anything food related, ants will be in it within minutes. I had to store all food in the refrigerator to keep ants away. I will not stay here again.

The resort was beautiful & located in a great spot on the island. Villa was clean & equipped with everything we needed. *Kitchen had plates, utensils, cooking supplies & even tupperware. *Dishwasher was helpful to throw everything in at the end of the day & wake up to clean dishes. *Bedrooms are wonderfully air-conditioned and comfortable! *No issues w/ noisy neighbors & plenty of parking. *Description said '1 bathroom,' but the villa had 2 full bathrooms *Fresh towels provided daily, or you could indicate using your towels more than 1 day. *Pools were great! We spent most of our time at the beaches. Papagayo's beach was a little confusing to figure out b/c each beach section is right next to the other. Cabanas are $69/pp according to 1 person. Someone else said they paid $100 for a cabana...? The beach chairs are free and worked fine for us. *Papagayo's section is a little farther from the restaurants which was ok. It was quieter and away from the DJ and crowds by the other restaurants. *Pool towels can be exchanged at the reception or @ the towel hut at the beach. *Grocery store nearby helped with buying essentials and snacks. *We drank the water straight from the sink & had no issues. *No restaurant on the resort property but plenty w/in walking distance by the beach. *Wraparound porch was lovely to relax on each night *Warning, there are def bugs both flying & crawling around the villa. It did not bother us but just a heads up. Everyone was so friendly!!

Property was nice, close to beach, cleaning staff and maintenance crew were great- kind , friendly and helpful. Since we had an ocean view villa we were close to the beach area and the music on Friday and Saturday late night kept us awake. Wish the rooms were sound proof.

Amazing! Book it! Definitely a wow factor upon arrival. It is its own community with restaurants, gym and a supermarket. Rent a car and explore! Jan Thiel is just a minute walk away! We are definitely coming back!

I would never recommend this property. It did not look anything like the photos that were shown. There was no central AC and very hot if you weren’t in the bedrooms. The floors, walls, and doors were dirty. The pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The ocean view is a very limited ocean view that can only been seen from one small section of the porch. If you do plan on staying here just know all of the pictures are from the VIP suites and you will not be staying in one anything close to that if you don’t pay for the VIP suite.

Great Stay

The stay at the Papagayo villas is a comfort away from home. The villas are quiet and peaceful and have everything you could need during your stay. The salt water infinity pool at the hotel was also a great feature. Really love that you can share all of the hotel amenities.

Perfect bungalow and privacy

Spacious apartment with everything you need. Loved hithe interior and the privacy .you have a whole bungalow for yourself. Loved having two bathrooms with two bedrooms. It was perfect I travelled with my daughter and college roommate and it was a good area for them as they could walk to beach and supermarket
