Our Coastal Cottage full-height loft apartment is tucked away on beautifully landscaped grounds, away from the road providing plenty of privacy. Only a 5-minute walk to Jamestown's most popular swimming beach, "Mackerel Cove". Swim in the cool Atlantic waters and view several magnificent "Summer Cottages" along the rugged cove leading to the open Atlantic Ocean. Your stay includes exclusive on-site parking for two cars.



IMPORTANT NOTE – beach parking is restricted to residents-only on busy days, making it always accessible for our guests. Our location is only a short, five-minute walk to Mackerel Cove Beach. Take all of your beach gear to the water’s edge in our complimentary, over sand “Beach Wagon”.

Comfortable, Spacious Living

The Loft features three bedrooms, 1 comfortable King bedroom, 1 comfortable Queen bedroom and a convenient 2 Twin bedroom - EACH WITH THEIR OWN PRIVATE ACCESS.



The queen room is located in a converted garage bay with its own sink downstairs from the Loft. You must still go outside and up the stairs to access the Loft's Kitchen and Bathroom.

There is one additional sofa bed in the sitting/kitchen area.

Guests share their own fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom and a comfortable dining/sitting area. All bedrooms are equipped with a large HD TV with access to your favorite streaming channels.  

One of the highlights is the stunning private outdoor shower, perfect for a refreshing beginning or end to your beach day. For your convenience, we now provide a brand new, full-size washer and dryer set to help keep your clothes fresh during your stay.

In the evening, enjoy a small "SOLO Fire Pit " with free seasoned cedar wood under warm hanging lights to illuminate the area.

Jamestown’s town center boasts a picturesque harbor and marina, with  impressive  private yachts and a ferry service to and from Newport. Several wonderful local restaurants and shops dot the sidewalk along Narragansett Avenue. A favorite nighttime spot is the Narragansett Cafe providing live Rock and Jazz-Blues bands with a classic New England Fishing-town Harbor Bar vibe.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage. It had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. The location was perfect-peaceful and private, yet close enough to the beach and the cute downtown. It was nice that the home provided beach towels, a cooler, and a beach wagon. Beautiful little loft apartment was perfect for our long weekend stay. Very clean. Well appointed. Quiet area and great location with a short walk to Mackerel Cove Beach. Beautiful Property in a Beautiful Town

This was our 5th year in a row staying at this BEAUTIFUL property. So comfy, cozy and quiet. Property is well kept and has enough room to sleep 6 people comfortably. The outdoor shower is a bonus along with onsite washer and dryer. The beach is within walking distance too. The owners are exceptional. The entire town is very walkable with a state park very close. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to visit and explore the cute little town of Jamestown.

Excellent overall except kitchen

We two had an excellent, peaceful stay, and slept well. Most everything was lovely and high quality, including the art and linens. Beds were excellent and bathroom was also despite the two doors that connected it. Our only disappointment was the kitchen, which had about a 24 square inch work space and inadequate utensils (no baking sheet, spatula, or wood mixing spoon). We ate in three nights in a row, after busy days, and made due with the microwave. If guests are eating lunch and dinner out it would be no problem. Some small glasses would be nice, too. Perhaps some fold-down counter space for either work space/dish drying space or eating space could solve that. Weather was cool, and we wished that the AC/fan system could've brought in the cool, fresh air as the upstairs apartment got hot during the day. The private parking space and side/back entrance worked well, although sometimes after rain the grassy area was damp and squishy enough to wet our daytime sneakers at the beginning or end of the day. Overall, we give the place high marks.

This place was very cute and very clean, the only reason for the 2 stars is for the fact that checkout was at 10 and someone was working on the garage below with banging and drilling waking me up much earlier than checkout. It was obnoxious.

“The Costal Cottage Loft”

My family has been going to Newport RI for years. We love the area. This year we found “The Costal Cottage Loft” located in Jamestown RI. What a beautiful loft, location, and amazing town. Great beach / summer vacation vibe and very clean. The local town has amazing restaurants like Beech with a great indoor and outdoor environment. The food was outstanding. Jamestown was a nice alternative from the busy downtown Newport. We still visited Newport for our favorite locations but coming back to the relaxing Loft and the feel of James town was a perfect addition to our weekend. James town even has boats that go back and forth from Newport. Just hop on the boat / ferry so there is no need to deal with driving or parking in Newport. The Jamestown find was a pleasant surprise that complimented the whole Newport experience. I do not think I would do Newport any other way moving forward. We highly recommend “The Costal Cottage Loft.”

WE used to Live on Jamestown We came back for a celebration of friends of ours. I was great to have a place on Island Not the craziness of Newport. We were able to see friends We went back to the different places on Island that we spend time at when we lived there The cottage was great gave us a good location and great place to stay when our friends had other plans We really enjoyed it

Location location location

The cottage was perfect for myself and husband. Location was good, easy to walk to downtown. Small kitchen, good for coffee/tea and snacks. Might be tight to really cook something Bedrooms are big, a queen and set of twin beads. Could easily fit a king! All the linens and towels were good quality

Perfect beach hideaway

The ideal beachy New England apartment, peacefully hidden away just minutes from the beach at Mackerel Cove. Easy to park, everything you could ever need including bbq, fire pit, outside shower and beach trailer. Loved this cozy little 2 BR apartment. The picture led me to believe our rental was a house, but it wasn’t. Though we were comfortable, climbing stairs to this garage apartment was difficult. We hope to return, but will probably stay in a house in the Newport area.

A splendid retreat!
