We absolutely love this stay. We make several trips to Houghton Lake a year to see our grandkids and kids. The description online does not do this place justice, exceeded above and beyond.

Annual girls trip

We had an amazing time! 6 of us, friends since high school take an annual trip to relax and this was perfect. The views were great, location accommodating, great area. Hosts were amazing and house was beautiful!

Aug 11- Aug 18, 2024 - Houghton Lake Vacation

The place was nice on the lake with beautiful views. The accommodations were not as detailed in the listing. We planned to use the bunk bed in the lower-level bedroom as stated in the listing, but there was no twin bunkbed in the lower-level bedroom or any other place in the house (this should be removed from the listing). This made it rough for sleep accommodations for our family. The docks were great for docking our boats, but Houghton Lakes water level is VERY LOW and swimming at the location is not good due water level and weeds. Glad we had the boats as we were able to find sandbars on the lake to enjoy the water and sun.

Beautiful Lake Home!

This house is gorgeous. It's so well designed and we truly could not believe how clean it was. We had SUCH a great time. Also, to know that there is a $225per day pontoon rental close by is huge! Thank you so much for letting us stay!

Hotel-like Houghton House

What a great place to relax and enjoy! Since it was a winter stay, we enjoyed the cozy interior of this property. It felt more hotel-like with a very high standard of cleanliness and amenities. From linens to seating, we loved how new and well thought out this house was. From the 7 year old to the 74 year old we all had a great escape on the lake! Would highly recommend the house and owner!

Beautiful Lake View

Beautiful, updated, clean home that meet all our needs. The baby gates were a blessing and awesome feature. The view is spectacular. Houghton Lake fishing was scarce but kids enjoyed kayaking. The only negative we found was location on main road and next to public access. Host, Calvin was very responsive and prompt responding.

Houghton Lake Family Vacation

The place was nice and accommodating. The location was okay, not really a quite neighborhood as described. There is a small park next to the house that cars/visitors are constantly coming and going. The house is on a busy main road, so the noise from the street activity can be a little annoying. Also, a very busy bar/restaurant complete with live bands playing all night does not make a quiet neighborhood. We were expecting to be able to jump off the dock into the lake for swimming and such, but not possible. The water was low and the area around the dock is all seaweeds, so no swimming there and the fishing was difficult too. Dang weeds! All in all we had a wonderful family vacation and the house was comfortable.

Great owners and the nice house

Our group of 8 adults and 2 small children spent great time at the house. The hose was very main maintained and had everything for the nice stay. Having the lake docs, fire pit and the grill was really cool. Calvine was very responsive and helpful.

Beautiful, clean and quiet lake home

Our group of 8 girls had a wonderful and relaxing weekend at Calvin and Mary's beautiful lake home. The home was absolutely beautiful. The beds were comfortable. There was ample space for everyone. The view was incredible. And this was the cleanest rental property I have ever stayed at. The home was stocked with everything we needed and more. It was a perfect weekend.
