Nice but Noisy

Clean, nice room for the budget price we paid. But walls are thin. We could hear the family in the room next door and could hear people talking in the hallway. Parking requires maneuvering in tight spaces. It is also run by a company independent of the hotel so it was a little confusing how billing worked when we first arrived. You need to give parking lot attendant your room number to charge it to your room.

Great for our overnight stay. The hot tub was welcomed, but not good for laying around the pool. Their pool is tiny and in the shade . Rooms were nice with a partial view of the ocean….

Good hotel in the middle of Waikiki

The hotel is located conveniently in the heart of Waikiki. It was very walkable in the surrounding area for restaurants and shopping. The room doors were very loud when opening and closing, so our neighbors would wake us up each morning when they left for the day. I would’ve also appreciated a wider window for the hot tub (currently only 9a-9p) because I enjoy an early morning soak.

Functional and Friendly, But Missed Expectations

Our experience didn't quite live up to what was depicted in the Hotels.com description. The hotel is clean and functional but feels a little dated and worse for wear in general. We also felt duped by the fact that "Pool" was listed as an amenity. The pool is indoor, tiny (smaller than a lap pool) and was positioned into a claustrophobic space with no seating, It truly would feel crowded with more than one person using the pool at once. We ended up not even using that area during our stay. The staff was friendly and responsive and we managed to thoroughly enjoy our stay overall, despite the miss on our expectations.

Wakiki Malia had friendly staff for me during my solo stay in Honolulu. They were helpful to my questions. There are plenty of places to walk to and visit, but to get the most out of Oahu, make sure to drive away from the city. The parking situation is awkward, have to remove sticker pass coming in and out, and there is a tight passage to get out of the parking zone at which you'll have to yield to incoming cars, there js only 1 way in and out of the parking with 1 lane. The gym and laundry are situated in the 5th floor of the parking lot which i thought was also awkward placement. Otherwise, the inside room was nice, clean, and i did not experience any disturbing noises. Aside from sometimes you can hear downtown Honolulu parties.
