I don't even know where to begin.. This city (Fortaleza) charges you $50.00 for any hotel practically and has some of the most unsanitary establishment and rooms I've come across. Black mold and filth in our bedroom and bedroom mirror, dirty appearance overall for the room, unkept hallway with filth built up, and as for the lobby, a HUGE amount of black mold all over the mirrors on the second floor (which is visible when walking into the entrance). The manager barely agreed to a refund, wasted our time after 3 flights and having not slept all night due to trying to find some place to stay that wasn't robbing us, and then proceeded to lie and kept our data we wrote down! This hotel needs sued and closed indefinitely. They didn't care about how many issues they caused us in the slightest and I'm in shock at how many people (including business men) walked in to rent rooms at this hotel when there was so much mold visible when first walking in.. It has to be because this is a third world country as Brazilians allow far more corruption than I've ever seen Americans allow for such aspects of sanitary conditions. We are still trying to get a full refund as we received around $182 when we paid $220 or so and that's not even mentioning the $30 fee they charged to let us check in a couple hours early (as we hadn't slept for over a day) that they still never refunded. I DO NOT recommend Hotel da Villa nor Fortaleza unless you love spending in an extremely poor and dangerous city

Pior experiência de hotel na minha vida. Eles inventem regras pra cobrar mais dinheiro dos hóspedes. Eles não deixarem um amigo me visitar, dizendo que cobra mais 170 reais pra visitante. Em canto nenhum esse regra tá escrita. A proprietária está confuso com as palavras hóspede e visitante. A verdade ela não quis deixar meu amigo subir por causa da homofobia. Esse hotel é homofóbico!!!!!! O banho foi horrível, um momento a água congela e outro queima. Tava com medo tomar banho! Café da manhã pobre, um hotel que cobra que eles cobrem deve ter bem mais opções. Então no fim, uma experiência horrível, eles me deixarem bem triste com o homofobia deles. Nunca foi tão humilhado assim na minha vida. Já viajei muito na minha vida e já hospedei em muitos hotéis na minha vida, isso foi i pior!!!!

Hotel da Villa is a comfortable, well-maintained and clean accommodations. This reasonably priced hotel is a wonderful gem, which easily exceeds much more expensive lodgings in downtown Fortaleza. Hotel da Villa is very easy to find and it's located near restaurants and stores for shopping. Hotel da Villa is only a ten minute walk to Iracema beach and close to some other popular sightseeing attractions. My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. I loved relaxing in the rooftop terrace and pool with its spectacular view of the downtown area. A complimentary hearty breakfast was offered daily with delicious local fruit, eggs, meat, cheeses, bread, pastries, juices, tea, coffee and more. Front desk staff effortlessly helped me with directions, sightseeing ideas and precisely made my reservations for airport transfers. Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful during my entire two-week stay there. Staff did everything possible to make sure that my entire stay was enjoyable, safe and healthy. Hotel da Villa was my home away from home while in Fortaleza. I give my thanks to all of the staff.

Bargain stay

Check-in was slow as the employee was distracted by a tour group leader, but I liked the room; it was small, clean and comfortable and had a nice view of Fortaleza. The breakfast line at 7 am was insane though - I ended up being 30 minutes late for my tour as I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to get food. So either plan ahead or go before 7 to get in line/try to eat later (I went down at 7 am). Great fruit, cake, tea, etc. There truly isn't a better hotel breakfast than Brazilian hotel breakfast, and this hotel didn't disappoint! I didn't have time to check out the pool, but I would say that for the price, this is a great place to stay. I liked the shower too. No CNN, but they do have a few English speaking TV channels.
