Hotel Mockingbird, Dallas, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel
"I arrived on Friday. The hot water was deficient. I took a shower Friday afternoon, but the hot water can best be described as lukewarm. They had apparently been having this problem for more than one day, and it was never solved on Friday. Saturday morning there was hot water in the bathroom sink, and by Saturday evening when I took my next shower there was hot water. If there is a way to get a guide of the TV channels, I could not find it (even though the remote had buttons labeled "menu" and "guide"), and there was no printed list of the channels. You can tab through the channels one at a time, but with more than 25 channels (estimate), that is a bit cumbersome. I did not use the swimming pool, but my grandchildren did. The pool water was fairly cold. The staff was kind and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was good ($25/person). There were also treats in the lobby at various times for guests. The hotel is excellently placed for seeing anything on the SMU campus."
