I very rarely complain and add bad reviews. I always give the hotel a chance to remedy. In this case a negative review us warranted as a caution to others considering this properly. It wasn't even close to the standard we observed in other area of Uruguay and Buenos Aires. Awful room on first floor facing pool area. Bathroom full of mold visible on floor, ceiling, mirror, walls and just painted over in areas. Broken closet door, towel rack coming off, very old and rusted finishes. The smell of sewage was so bad we had to keep open patio doors just to stay in there. No help from the front desk to remedy because they were high occupancy so our daughter who has allergies stayed in friends' room for the 1 night. The pool had turned cloudy with a very low water level. It looked very unsanitary and even though it was still packed with people. We were not allowed to sit outside on patio chairs with our own beverages. The buffet breakfast was inedible. This is by far the worst hotel experience and should be reviewed by public health.

Beautiful location but dine out

Absolutely beautiful location, our room had view over the water heated indoor pool ( it was winter time so we didn’t try the outdoor infinity pool that overlooks the river) very comfortable room, bed and we each booked 60 minute massages at the hotel fitness area one of the best we’ve ever had . The only disappointment was the food and service was hit & miss- some were absolutely fantastic others not very good - could be language barrier? As very few spoke English & while my Spanish was fine in Montevideo - I really struggled with some of the restaurant staff who spoke really quickly and their dialect was harder to understand.

This is the best located hotel in Colonia. It’s a few minute’s walk from the historic town. There are many dining and drink options in the immediate area. The hotel restaurant is very good. The pool is great. Staff are very friendly

Overall our stay was good. The rooms are not very sound proof so the hall noise was very loud. But the room was clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating with our limited spanish. The area is great for walking and I would stay here again!

Overall, very nice hotel. BUT, I HAD A TRULY TERRIBLE STEAK AT DINNER. MY WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER. IT WAS MOSTLY GRISTLE. I COULD NOT EVEN CHEW IT. I TOLD THE WAITRESS - NO RESPONSE. AT THE VERY LEAST SHOULD HAVE OFFERED A REFUND.
