Yes it was very welcoming and ready for us when we arrived. It was everything that we expected and had a memorable time as a family. Only issue was with the elevator but the repairman showed us what to do when it quit on us. Just needs some usual maintenance upkeep.

Booked this for our families while in town for a funeral. The house wasn't cleaned before we arrived and we had to wait an additional 3 hours for it to be cleaned & laundered (after driving for 11.5 hours). They didn't have enough sheets for all the beds and despite saying they'd come back with the correct sheets; no one returned so we slept on blankets. None of the bikes were useable; tires were dry-rotted and unable to take air, chains were off and the rims and fenders were too bent to be ridden. The garbage disposal was broken and maintenance had to be called to repair it. Sheets were finally delivered the afternoon of the second day. The beverage fridge from the kitchen was not installed and was sitting in the garage. Paint is peeling in multiple indoor and outdoor locations & fixtures rusted (mostly wall corners, window sills and railings). Although relieved that the "roaches" were just water bugs, pest control could surely help. The text/phone help had very delayed responses, sometimes not until the next day although all staff was friendly, not apologetic enough to compensate for the shortcomings.Positives: elevator, location & beach access, starter kitHopefully the new mgmt co can get the kinks worked out and the maintenance improved. We will look elsewhere next time.

Can’t beat the beach!

Perfect vacation spot for our family. Kitchen could be better stocked, a few more cooking spices and towels would help. Very clean except for washer, but they sent someone to take care of that. Overall great! Can’t beat the location!

Great house, very clean. Beach was beautiful! Kitchen could have had a bigger pot, and coffee pot didn’t work but manager came over very quickly with a new one. Comfortable for games and watching tv. Fun weekend!

Girls weekend

House was great, location was great. Management was not so great when we unfortunately left a Shibumi shade in the garage at departure and it wasn’t recovered. Had to pay $25 for them to check to see if it was there and then had no communication for a week. At that point, I called to see if it had been found but no one seemed to know what I was taking about. I’m sure someone on the cleaning staff or Vacasa staff is enjoying some shade in the sun!

Beautiful Relaxing Respite

Four women had a getaway and we had the best time enjoying this well appointed house. We walked into a very clean property. The furniture was comfortable. I would definitely rent again. The only downside was the paper products which were low quality.

Excellent Beach Vacation with Stunning View

Loved our stay. Great location as we were able to walk or ride a bike to stores and restaurants. Very clean beach house with beach themed decor. Amazing view of the beach from two bedrooms, deck, and living room. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful home with a great ocean view!

The house was perfect for our group of 3 families, with 4 children. The floor plan was great. I rated it a 3 star because we had to address some issues with several things that needed repairing. Also, guests need to know the wifi is very spotty, especially if you plan to do any on line work while you are there (or watch tv). For us, it was off more than it was on. The property manager quickly responded to my call and she is handling the repairs. Otherwise, it would have been a 5 star rating.

Great Vacation Spot

Herrons Hideaway is a wonderful property. We had 6 adults and 6 children in our group. We had plenty of room, enjoyed the balconies and were able to prepare large meals to feed our family. We appreciated that we only had to walk the very short distance over the dunes to reach the beach. The Veggie Wagon, which is very close to the property, was wonderful, and we enjoyed their veggies. coffees and baked goods. The property's location is very convenient, and we enjoyed walking to the boardwalk and Thursday night's fireworks.

Great house for a multi-Family vacation

We had 2 families share this property for 1 week (4 adults, 5 kids) and it was a great house for our group. There were 2 master suites with attached baths, which was great for the parents, and 3 kid-friendly bedrooms on the first floor with a shared hall bath. We loved that the kids had their own "level" away from the parents. The kitchen/dining/living room level on the middle floor had a great open layout with plenty of seating for everyone. There was also a beautiful view of the ocean from the balcony. The kitchen had modern appliances and included all the basic cooking essentials. ... And the house was close to the shops, restaurants and boardwalk in Carolina Beach so we were able to walk to almost everything we did in the evenings. We also loved that the house came with a few bikes, as well as beach chairs for us to use. While this was a very nice house and we would definitely recommend this property to others - we have stayed in several VRBO rentals over the years, and there were a few small things that kept this from being a 5-star review in our group's mind. For example, they only provided 1 bath towel per person, which wasn't definitely wasn't enough. It would have been nice to have a few extra. The bedroom curtains were VERY thin and did almost nothing to block out the very bright morning sun. We resorted to hanging beach towels over the curtain rods in order to keep the rooms darker so we could sleep past 6AM when the sun came blaring in. The TV in 1 of the upstairs master bedrooms did not work because it only had internet TV and was too far from the router to pick it up. Even though it was not listed, we'd assumed (mistakenly) that there would be a grill to use for dinners, etc. Almost every VRBO we've rented has one, and in our opinion, that's something most people want to have when renting a summer beach house And lastly, you have to go through the garage in order to get into the house (there is no outside door) but they only provided 1 garage door opener - which was challenging when we had different people going to different places away from the house. It would have been nicer if there was a keypad on the garage door with a code to type in order to open in, rather than having to keep track of and share 1 garage door opener. But overall, it was a nice house that was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our trip!

Family beach vacation

Very nicely decorated and stocked. Only problem was one short few hours without running water. Don't know what the problem was. Would have liked to deal directly with owner instead of a management company. Didn't have any directions on checking out like what to do with linens, towels, etc.
