Great facilities and service. We have returned to the Fox Hotel many times over several others in Banff due to solidly reliable quality, cost, and convenience. All of the staff we encountered this time were extremely friendly—especially the guy at checkout who gave our dog a squeaky toy and treat 🙂 Yes, it is maybe a little bit worn in places nowadays, and could definitely do with some updates; however, the hot tub is still fantastic (especially at off-peak times), the location is perfect, and we have always had wonderful service at the in-house Chilli’s. I would not hesitate to recommend the Fox Hotel to anyone—especially if you are a dog-owner!

We had a fabulous stay and next time in Banff would happily book there again. Hot tub was great. Our suite was awesome. I love having an exterior door so no loud hotel hallways. Juat a great hotel.

Room was dated and worn. clean but needed a refresh. It would be amazing if the hotel provided robes as we had to walk outside to get to and from the hot tub. In the hot tub area - they need to have more towels - they were almost always empty.

They dont re-stock towels at the pool often. So bring your own from your room. Rooms on the 4th floor take along time for the water to get hot in the shower

We stayed here on Christmas Day! It was so picturesque. We were accommodated for both early check in (12pm) and late check out (1pm). We could tell the front desk staff were sick but keeping their spirits up. It's a short walking distance from the main Banff strip but they also provide free public bus tickets. They even have a shuttle service to the ski hills. There was plenty of underground parking. We stayed in their double suite (three beds if you pull out the couch). The pull out is expectedly very UNCOMFORTABLE, the double beds are decent. The room was chilly even with the thermostat set high. The little kitchenette was a little sparce. It had four sets of plates, bowls, and silverware; a toaster; a microwave, a cutting board; a kettle; and a coffee maker. All rooms open to the outdoors. The key cards are older and will demagnitze if left next to your phone. This is an unfortunate realization when you are outdoors in the snow, in your swimsuit. Why swimsuits? Because the absolute highlight of this hotel is the grotto hot pools and sauna. We spent hours soaking and relaxing in the ambiance. It's open from 8am to 11 pm but is closed noon to 1 pm every day for cleaning.

The decorations inside and outside were beautiful the first week of January. The hot tub was wonderful. The location was great. The pillows were terribly uncomfortable, hard and strange leaving us with very sore necks. No alternative pillows were available when we asked.

Overall good stay, depending how much it’ll cost ya, if you don’t pay Holidays periods’ high prices, it’a nice price quality ratio. The hot pool was nice, a bit busy late at night, but everyone was respectful and it was clean. Room was what you would expect nothing fancy, but clean and spacious. There’s underground parking too, so that’s a plus.

The hotel is charming with a cozy and warm lobby. The staff is extremely helpful, especially Ken at the front desk. The one bedroom suites are great with a kitchen included. The hot tub and pool with dry sauna are just what you needed after a long day on the slopes. Chilies attached the hotel was very fun, great to grab a drink with the friendly bartenders. The location was a 15 minute walk to downtown Banff, we enjoyed the walk! All in all a great value for a beautiful town.

The heat did not work in the room, we were cold for most of the night. When I pulled down the blinds the top piece fell hit me in the head. Also the handle on the faucet in the shower was loose. I turned it to medium heat but the handle turned to the hot water on the left and scalded me a bit. I reported these, the staff seemed slightly apologetic, and there was nothing they could do as maintenance had gone home. Not worth the stay for that amount, would not return or recommend.
