We needed to pay for an upgrade to the renovated suites. the first room in the older part of the hotel was unacceptably run down. that said, the new section was GORGEOUS and worth every penny. The Buffet was very good, drinks mediocre and staff lovely. extremely difficult to get into any of the restaurants other than the buffet, but don't recommend the italian or seafood option, as they lacked ambiance, service was fair at best and food meh. I would stay here again, as it was a good value. It is important to note that hotel almost two hours from the cancun airport during times of traffic and normally about one hour twenty without.

Staff was amazing. Front desk upgraded us to adults only building. Guest services were extremely friendly and accommodating. The grounds were beautiful. Only dislike was the high pressures sales tactics for their Privilege Club (which is not a requirement to attend).

High points and very low points pools and drinks are excellent although every bar ran out of JAck daniels. the food in the Buffet was poor...monotonous..the same EVERY DAY. and the meat was ALWAYS tough to eat. this is supposed to be 5 star and the quality was poor. couldnt comment on the restaurants as we couldnt reserve a table in ANY we wanted for party of 6 sportbar was a contstant headache of getting the sports on and they tried to close early every night pools were good entertainment was ok BUT asking to pay to see shows in ALL INCLUSIVE hotel is boardering on criminal. the price i paid for what we got was not very good. my friends from the uk paid nearly a thousand less so i guess that was acceptable to them.

Luxury akumal was an amazingly peaceful resort that syill had amny activities. The dining experience was superb and rooms were excellent. Would highly recommend

The resort was great all around! Only negative experience was a broken air conditioner and it was dealt with immediately.

If you’re thinking of traveling to Mexico this is definitely the place to stay. Not a flaw in anything. Don’t be afraid to ask for a double shot in your drinks. They’re so friendly so nice, always there to assist you. I would definitely go again. There’s something to do for everyone in the family.
