The Lake Yellowstone Hotel is incredibly convenient as a pick-up location for the fabulous park-run guided tours of Yellowstone and a central place from which to drive around the incredible park. Some hotel staff were stellar and others seemed like they did not want to be there, but we were there toward the end of the what I am sure is ab exhausting season. Our shower curtain was not what I would call clean nor were the baseboards in the bathroom. I did not realize dinner reservations should be made 60 days in advance - so now readers know - make dinner reservations WAY in advance. There are not a lot of food options - but the kitchen also needs to serve an unbelievable number of people. We absolutely would stay here again for the incredible convenience and the staff members who did go out of their way to be nice.
Yellowstone National Park is beyond compare for the wildlife and thermal geology! Staying in the park can really make your time there much more enjoyable!! Book the National Park guided tours - they are amazing!!! We took two and they were worth every penny and every minute of our time! We were picked up right at the hotel!
