The property is over priced and by comparison to the several cabin properties we stayed on our recent trip, this is the worst. We stayed in a second floor cabin above the registration and general store. The floor was extremely noisy and we woke up every time other guests walked in the hallway at night. The single bathroom seems inadequate for the guests of the cabins on this floor. The room was hot. We definitely will not stay at this place again.

The cabin look is fun and makes the stay near Yellowstone and the Tetons feel like you are immersing yourself into nature. That is fun and nice. It is also nice they have a gas station on site. Rooms however are not air conditioned and I wish they’d spray for mosquitoes around the property. We couldn’t enjoy the outside games, benches, sitting areas, etc. because the mosquitoes would just swarm. It made it impossible. We wanted to enjoy the area after a fun day in the Tetons, but couldn’t. It is nice there are restaurants on site, but the cost is very unreasonable. It is too expensive and so we weren’t able to dine on site. We instead went to Dornan’s down the road. I also think the hotel itself is extremely overpriced. I think they are able to “up charge” because people are just stuck paying because there aren’t other options. The store is nice, but again overpriced and neither the female or male adult staff worker were very personable or welcoming. No greeting upon arrival, no hellos, no chitchat. We bought bug spray in the store…$12 for regular can of OFF. That unfortunately shows they are just trying to make a buck. Hotel rooms had a fun cabin feel, but the floors were very dirty. We had to wash our feet many times and put socks in a bag after just walking around the room and before getting into bed. It served our purposes of having a place to stay, but I wouldn’t pay that price again or stay there again.

The Hatchet is a quaint resort property with significant history to the local area surrounding Grand Teton NP. It is clean, well-kept, offers delicious dining options, and provides a lodge ambiance with large beam cabins and wildflower landscaping with the mountains and valley as an incredible backdrop. We loved our stay and will come again, HIGHLY recommend.

When I made the reservation, all they had available was a hostel room with a shared bathroom. Sharing the bathroom was OK, but the room had no refrigerator, no microwave or toaster, not even a chair to sit on. The regular rooms might be much nicer, but we don’t no, so I was very disappointed paying $180 for the one night we were there.

The Hatchet has a neat history and is located in a beautiful secluded area with a view of the Tetons and a short drive to anything you could want! We enjoyed the restaurants, environment and our beautiful cabin. Breakfast was possibly the best breakfast we have ever had. The grounds have fun areas including outdoor games and a small playground. Stayed in July and mosquitos in the area were prominent, so just being prepared for that helps. Sunset views are gorgeous. We stayed in a family cabin and the kids loved the trundle bed! The staff was very welcoming and helpful and we would highly recommend The Hatchet!

1. You will be carried away by mosquitoes there. Their lots has tons of tons of mosquitos, i was planing to play with my 2 kids at their lawn, and we totall got more than 20 bug bites in less than 1 mins out. We scared to run insides, and ended with a night of mosquitos hunting before sleep. 2. We stayed at downstairs part of a house. Upstairs started showering on and off at 1am! Our bedroom is right under their bathroom. Awaked up multiple times because of it. But even worse, there was a leak somewhere Upstair, kept dripping most of night after their shower. We had no way to complain or go to, beacase staff is not on call at night. 3. Their gas station is more expensive than inside of park, we did not know that until get inside park.

Mosquitos and strong moldy odor in the bathroom
it was ok/ the bathroom smelled moldy which concerned me as i have severe allergies and i am sensitive to mold. The bed was comfortable. Outside the landscape was great - we could only enjoy a few minutes of outdoor fun as the mosquitos attacked us insanely. My poor grandson still has welts all over his arms. They have no medication or after bite for purchase
