January break in Hampshire
Perfect location for visiting friends and family in Hampshire. Good household improvements carried out since visiting in 2025. (new appliances etc)
Change the check-in time to 15.00hrs. This is the only cottage I have ever used that has a 16.00hrs check-in which is rather late.

Wonderfully quiet and easily accessible.
Plenty of space for car, boattrailer. Hardly seen other people so all privacy. Fairly central so ideal as a base
Not as clean as we're used to,
We’ve had a lovely half term stay visiting friends and the surrounding area. Stonehenge and Winchester both easy to get to. The house is lovely and easy to stay in. Many thanks.

Handy for visiting family
Perfect location to visit our Hampshire based friends and family. We have used this house several times over the past few years and will keep coming back as it ticks all our boxes.
We've been staying in this house for the past few years and it is getting a bit shabby, which is a shame. It needs a bit of TLC to bring it back up to scratch.

Excellent well equipped, clean and comfortable property in a rural location.
Secure garden for the dog. Comfortable furniture and beds. Well equipped kitchen. Very nice toiletries and liquid soap on all basins and sinks. Comprehensive first aid kit and instructions for all the appliances.
Welcome pack including milk would have been nice due to remoteness, a new dishcloth and pan scourer together with basic cupboard items like salt and pepper would have saved a shopping trip. Wall mounted toilet roll holders would have been more convenient than floor stands.

Quiet and comfortable
We have stayed here before (in 2020) and nothing has changed. Beautiful location, very peaceful. House is well equipped. The master bed is not a true king size (two twins pushed together). Good for dogs - nice big garden. The A303 is nearby but not too noisy. Downside to the A303 is having to head west, down to next junction, loop over the A303 and then rejoin it in order to go east - no other way to gain access to the dual carriageway. Nice pub in Barton Stacey (not really walkable, no footpath and no street lights but decent food and welcoming). Great to see hares, deer, rabbits on the doorstep.
Might be worth telling renters exactly where to find the lock box (we knew from previous stay but arriving in winter, in the dark may prove frustrating searching around!)
Great stay but small things would have made a difference
Overall this is a great property. Very secluded but near to main roads and easy access to amenities. There are however a few things that would have made a vast improvement to the property considering the cost to rent. The sitting room could do with more and better seating. Considering this is for 4 people, 2 small sofas is not sufficient for evening comfort especially considering the dining area can accommodate 8 people. Smaller things like there are no toilet roll holders. Also the bathroom taps are over-zealous and soak you and the bathroom! But the bedrooms are very comfortable and the kitchen is well laid out.
My only other feedback was the level of interruption. We had 2 different sets of gardeners show up on 2 different days without prior knowledge or arrangement - both in the mornings when we were trying to enjoy the outdoor space. And the fire blanket and extinguisher needed to be taken for servicing which meant we were without essential safety gear for over 24 hours.
Like I say, these are small things but if managed, would improve the overall experience and justify the cost to rent the property.
