Hilton Curacao

Pros: Location, oceanfront with private beach. Restaurants near property were good and would recommend.
Cons: Maintenance of property.
Location: Great location. Close to down town.
Hotel was a fair deal, oceanfront view beautiful. Staff was great. Hallways were loud with doors closing and the shower generally had standing water when in use. Convent location. Good experience.

Disappointing is an understatement

The hotel itself is in need of a lot of updating. Our first room smelled like fish and the morning after our first night there, the toilet started leaking & the shower flooded (see pictures & be thankful I cannot include the smell). It took all day to be moved to another room. To “make it right” we first received a “free breakfast” card. After waiting all day for them to decide if they could fix the flooding or give us another room, we received a “free dinner” at the Italian restaurant on site & were ultimately moved to another room. The staff was in no big hurry to make sure things were handled quickly. The restaurants on site were pretty bad and way overpriced. The wait staff was also very poor. We were thankful to leave which is very sad.

Good value for money

Pros: The 60s vibe and architecture, and the price.
Cons: See review. Open the breakfast-only restaurant all day. Remove signs to amenities that no longer exist.
Location: Location is very isolated unless you have a car. If you do have a car - downtown is only a couple miles away and it's very nice.
The hotel had a nice retro 60s vibe to it. But it's a bit worn. Carpet needs replaced in corridors. Several old amenities have been removed (minigolf, giant chess, kids pool) but signs are still up. Children's pool is filled with sand. There are really no restaurants at the hotel - just a outside bar and some tables (also outside) set aside as an "Italian" restaurant. Their main restaurant area only serves breakfast. The casino was only fair - we left after a quick walk-through. Plus the location is a bit isolated. You need to rent a car at the airport if you choose this hotel. The beach at this hotel (like a lot on the island) was very tiny and appeared to be cut into the coral rocks at the shoreline - there really aren't a lot of natural expansive beaches like in Aruba or other islands. The staff was very pleasant but not very competent - we were missing towels or washcloths almost every day and they couldn't find us a jeep rental place. That being said, the price was good - less than a lot of the other hotels on the island.

Honeymoon trip

Pros: The view from the hotel room was spectacular.
Cons: The food selection was somewhat limited. Expected more Curacao dishes as opposed to American dishes
Location: Although the hotel beach was small, it was good. We traveled to other beaches around the island. Car rental can be expensive.
My wife and I went to Curacao for our honeymoon. The island is vey beautiful. The hotel staff staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially the ladies in the Executive Lounge on top floor. They were very friendly and told us good places to visit on the island. The rest of the staff at the hotel was very friendly as well.

Nice hotel with private beach

This is the second time we stayed here and while definitely not the nicest hotel on the island, it is very satisfactory. The hotel was probably built in the 50's or 60's at the latest and tho it has been remodel recently it is running a little long in tooth. We initially had a room on the 5th floor and the view was spectacular but we choose to switch rooms because of the temperature. The ceiling of the room is the ceiling of the hotel and it gets all the heat from the sun and 4 floors below and we could never get the room cool enough to be comfortable at night. Might not be an issue for some but there were multiple complaints from guests. What we like about the resort is the private beach and the ambiance. Both are spectacular and you get a fabulous view of the sunset every night. The food is really good there but a little pricey. Over 20 dollars for the breakfast buffet if you do not do the executive package but only 6 if you do. The staff is wonderful and are extremely helpful. The hotel is where the KLM crew stay while on their rotation but the hotel never seems crowded. You can always get a beach recliner or one by the infinity pool without worry. On the flip side, if you are looking for a really active and hip nightlife, you probably won't like this hotel as much. It is a family environment so there are kid . The hotel sponsored several excursions and all are nice and reasonably priced. A must is the Klein Curacao mermaid boat trip. Unbelievable beach and water.

I would not recommend this hotel.

Pros: Room size and balcony was good. Staff was helpful.
Cons: Cleanliness of rooms and public spaces.
Location: There was nothing much to do nearby.
Extremely small beach. Food and drink very expensive. Shabby and run down condition in the rooms as well as public areas. Amenities non existing. You had to ask for everything. For example, had to request soap, coffee, shampoo, tissues etc. Housekeeping very poor.
