DO NOT BOOK

There was roof damage that I had specifically asked about based on another review. I was told it was fixed and it was not. There was a huge hole in the roof of the three season room from a tree that they had covered with tarps. However, due to wind the tarps had come off and you could see outside as well as letting critters in. The hot tub doesn’t work. The cabin was freezing. I have tried to make contact with the owner multiple times about a refund and they have said they processed one but I have yet to see anything on my end.

Not at all the description - things broken roof caved in

Beware if you book this place. It is not at all what is included in the description. Half of the stuff in the house didn't work, and the back half of the property's roof was caved in. It was very clean, which I appreciated but it wasn't what I expected. On top of that, after trying to connect with the owner he never got back to me after saying he would.

Nice pond for relaxation

I was looking for a cabin to spend the weekend with my husband and 2 dogs. The cabin has a warm feel to it. It has games to play, hot tub and sauna. About 50 steps in the back yard is the fire pit then about 100ish steps to the pond. You can’t see the pond from the house but from the hot tub you can! The pond was awesome, there was 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards and a paddle boat. The kitchen and bathroom are brand new and very nice. I unfortunately gave a two on cleanliness. There was some areas that needed addressed. I spoke to the owner and I believe he is taking care of it. Once that’s all situated, I would recommend this place.

A Wonderful Retreat

This was a beautiful property with so many amenities on on location activities. The outdoor sitting area was a hub of activity for our family as we spent most of our time there. The host was very accommodating and responsive as well. I highly recommend!

Not what was expected

Upon arrival, there were no check instructions shared and had to speak with VRBO to get in. Messages to the host went unanswered which is not surprising as a week before we had inquiries which also went unanswered. (We spoke to him about renting a boat, to which he offered to facilitate and when details were shared, nada.) After 2 hours of being locked out of the property, we got in to the cabin that was 85 degrees inside with no instructions for the thermostat. Good thing there is Google. We didn't come here for the internet, but please don't say you have wifi with the connections that exist there. Call I what it is, it's fine…just be honest. The property sits approximately 50 feet from an extremely busy road. Not exactly tranquility. In fact, quite a loud place to be. Lake accessibility is also deceptive as it's not a quick jaunt, but a car ride. The connected pond is remote but there are trespassing warnings which is a little disheartening. We made the best of it. Needless to say, we won't be going back. Quite pricey for the experience. This is our first bad experience with VRBO. We hope future sites we look at will be a little more honest and communicative.

Great place for a family getaway

We had a great time at Adam's place. The communication was spot on. The small lake out back had something for everyone, and the place was clean and welcoming. He even left a card and balloon for Grandma's 80th. Noice touch.

Not for me

My husband picked out this place. I am not into old and rustic so I wouldn't have picked this out. Although it was his choice, he was also disappointed. The cabin is very dark. Lights need to be on at all times. There is only one exit on the main level and if there was a fire and you couldn't reach the only exit, you also wouldn't be able to reach the stairs to get to the basement exit. Only one of the bedrooms has a closet and it is small and full of stuff so it cannot be used. I also feel that the cleaning fee is outrageous. Even though the place was clean, it should have been immaculate for the cost. There many areas with a thick layer of dust, like the bed's headboard, the mirror and towel fixtures, etc. There was even toothpaste and squashed spiders on the bathroom wall. Adam was great and I am sorry I have to give negative comments, but this place is for people who like unique and unusual places.

Beautiful cabin set on a wooded yard with everything you need for a fun and enjoyable day. Nice patio area with everything you could use to relax and make your stay a much needed and fun get away.

Family getaway

My family really enjoyed our weekend getaway, even though the weather didn’t cooperate for skiing. But we all had fun just being able to be all together. Adam was an excellent host and was very accommodating!

Comfy and relaxing

We had a group in town to go to a show at Pine Knob. Just a short drive there. The place itself was very cozy. We loved hanging out by the lake. Folks fished, kayaked and we brought our own tubes. Had a great fire in the pit. Although the place is close to the road, you can’t hear the noise from inside. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful Getaway

This was the first annual family retreat for me and my immediate family. We will be going here every year! We had an absolute blast! Everything was as described. There were 10 people total and we were all able to sleep comfortably between the beds and fold down sofas. The setting is beautiful and when out by the little lake, you feel so far from everything. The lake is also just fine for swimming, as I found out when I fell off the SUP board ;D Highly recommend!

Private lake house

We had a great time enjoying the private lake catching fish and enjoying the water toys on the property. We brought our boat and enjoyed a beautiful lake day. Can't wait for the property to get the hot tub going this will be a great addition to the property. Beautiful secluded property

Just returned home from an amazing vacation with my family. We had 7 people staying in the cabin. We had more than enough space. The private lake is amazing. So peaceful. My kids (10,8,5) had so much fun fishing and swimming. Adam, the property manager, did a great job at communicating with us and we are already trying to decide when we can get back. Highly recommend this property!! Can’t wait to be back soon.

We had a great time at santas cabin. The little lake was very private and natural, we enjoyed sitting on the deck just relaxing. Property was beautiful. Will definitely be back sometime soon!

Unique property.

Unique property. The owner has made updates to the kitchen and bathroom to modernize the home while maintaining the integrity of the old cabin. Still some work to do to make it an upscale place but the history of the cabin and its uniqueness are worth the trade. Little touches like fresh baby’s breath didn’t go unnoticed. Enjoyed that the new owner maintained some of the Santa vibe. The property outside is nice, unfortunately it rained for the majority of our stay so we weren’t able to enjoy it as much as we would’ve liked. Would like to return after more of the renovations are done to see the outcome.

Great property with a great host!

Santa’s cabin was perfect for our two families that stayed. We were able to catch bass (5.5 lbs was the biggest), fair sized pike and large crappie. We made use of the gas grill and enjoyed watching the wildlife on the property. Adam was an amazing host, responsive and very helpful. Would stay there again!

Bachelorette Gone Wrong

The property has no photos on here to show this (false advertising) but it is completely decorated for Christmas year round. There is no way to take down the decorations as they cover the ceiling/walls/etc. Adam was an absolutely terrible communicator. He promised us a pontoon boat for the day and after multiple calls, texts, and messages he NEVER RESPONDED and we never got the boat day we were promised. He has yet to apologize for his negligence to communicate and own up to the situation. I do not recommend this property to anyone unless you want a winter wonderland and terrible communicator as a host.

Rustic and beautiful

Unique and cosy cabin. Grandkids loved the santa vibe. The outdoor property is beautiful. The porch is amazing. We hope to stay there again when we return to Michigan.
