Sanderlings - holiday home close to beach
Situated just a short walk from Greenhill Beach, 'Sanderlings' is a spacious and characterful holiday home, providing a perfect base to explore all that Weymouth has to offer! The house benefits from a sociable layout, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, ideal for a family get together. There is an enclosed garden with seating at the rear of the property, along with driveway parking for one car. Pets welcome!
This semi-detached holiday home is ideally situated for a family holiday or even to friends coming together to celebrate a special occasion. The property is spacious and full of character, with signature high ceilings and a large wooden staircase leading up to the first floor. On arrival, you are greeted by a long and inviting hallway with the cosy living room on your left. The living room is complete with a flat screen smart TV, 'L' shape sofa and ornamental feature fireplace. Further down the hallway is the dining room, with an extendable dining table to seat 6. The dining room leads into the kitchen at the rear of the house (steps down to kitchen). There is a utility room and a cloakroom with W.C. at the rear of the house, along with an enclosed paved garden. The back gate from the garden leads to Fernhill Avenue, which is just a short walk to the beach.
Up to the first floor, there are three bedrooms. The bedroom at the front of the house has two twin beds that can 'zip and link' together to make a King Size bed on request. There is a cosy double bedroom which has skylight windows and a door interlinking with the master King Size bedroom next door (which can be locked from either side for privacy, or left open for families with children). The master bedroom is spacious, with a large bed, wardrobe and feature fireplace. Both bathrooms are at the end of the hallway, one with a bath and overhead shower, and the other with a walk in shower. Please note there is only one toilet on the first floor.
The property benefits from private driveway parking for one car, along with unlimited on street parking for more cars. There is Wi-Fi, and we provide all linen and towels.
The seaside town of Weymouth is within easy reach, just a 25 minute walk or a short 5 minute bus journey into the town. Weymouth benefits from an award winning stretch of sandy beach with shallow warm waters, perfect for families. There is also a quaint working harbour, with an eclectic mix of galleries, shops and independent cafe's to choose from. Weymouth town benefits from high street shops, a cineworld cinema and amusement arcades.
Further afield is the county town of Dorchester, a historical town with beautiful architecture and twice weekly market. Brewery Square is a great place to visit, with a choice of independent and chain restaurants, an ODEON cinema and a mix of vintage and high end clothes shops.
The property is conveniently located along Dorchester Road, but there is potential for noise.

Drive along Dorchester Road, passing LIDL on your left, stay on Dorchester Road until you reach Sanderlings on your left (74A, blue front door, gravel driveway). If you reach Fernhill Avenue on your left, you've gone too far. You can turn around and park extra cars in Fernhill Ave.

Amy made everything easy, from booking to check-out. We were in the Weymouth area for a week and found this location ideal, especially with parking at the front door! The property had all the bits and pieces one might need for either a short or extended stay. The welcome pack was greatly appreciated and a lovely touch! Whilst we weren’t travelling with pets, I noted that it was a pet friendly property. I would note that this property has 2 levels with a somewhat narrow and steep staircase, which might be an issue for some travellers. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay on the Jurassic Coast.
