I liked the outside of the hotel. The inside had been newly remodeled but had been done poorly. The staff was not friendly. Poor security as they kept the front door open and no one at the front desk.

The property is in an older building that blends right into the neighborhood architecture and has the feel of a boutique hotel. The whole property seems to be undergoing a renovation, and my room seems to be one of the ones that had been renovated (it was also on the top floor at the very end of the hall). Because of the renovation, there’s no proper check in desk, just a small table. And there were mattresses lining the hall on my floor and the two floors (half a flight up or half a flight down) to get to the elevator (fellow travelers keep in mind you will have to carry luggage up or down a few steps). The room, while recently re-done and clear was also very small and lacks a closet or dresser drawers (just a rack for hanging items). It’s probably best suited for the person doing some casual traveling (I had suits with me) who will not spend much time in the room. Any staff interaction I had, I should add, was very cordial, friendly, and polite.

Not a bad hotel for the price. Further from DuPont Circle than expected. Room was very very small. Bathroom was small. Shower water pressure is not great. Water was always either freezing or scalding. Hotel staff was incredibly nice. Neighborhood was nice.

First off, there is NO parking. If you can find on-street parking , there is a 2 hour limit unless it is after 6:30pm. Between 4 and 6:30 there is absolutely NO parking at all because of "rush hour". So the idea is to be slowly circling the block at 6:29 pm hoping to score a spot. Then the cars around you park 2 or 3 inches apart. Nightmare. The rooms are very small, have no closet other than an 18-inch wide cabinet. The fan in the bathroom did not work. And the advertised "continental breakfast" was discontinued in June of 2017! Also there is no computer access even in the lobby. Lots of false advertising to my way of thinking. And I said it all without profanity!!!

Don't Stay Here!!!

Pros: Nothing!!!
Cons: Everything. The location was nice and that is why I thought I would give it a try but I would never actually stay there it was just too unsanitary.
My first clue should have been when the front desk ask me to initial several disclaimers pertaining to lost or stolen items, etc. While doing so I asked specifically if they had problems with such things and was totally blown off. Then I was checked into a room in the basement. The room was tiny, the furniture was old and rickety and the carpet was very dirty. When I looked in the bathroom I was horrified to see that a large section of the inch by inch tiles in the floor of the shower were missing. When I tried to look out the window it appeared to be either painted or bricked in so you couldn't see a thing. When I contracted Travelocity to cancel my reservation I knew I was probably on the hook for the first night but thought a 24 hour cancellation would be fine for the second night. However, when Travelocity contacted the hotel on by behalf they were told I would be charged for the both nights no matter what. When she asked for the manager, she was told that manager would not speak to her and there was nothing that could be done. I checked out and went to find another place to stay. I had to pay more but at least I felt safe and clean.

Accessible to a lot of embassy offices

Pros: The location and security.
Cons: If towels could be replaced with new ones.Front desk must know the area and offices or the banks location, etc. So that questions be answered.
Location: Location is very nice, that's why front desk must know the nearby places of interest so that strangers that visit the place will be helped.

Unmet expectations

Pros: It is in a quiet, safe neighborhood, convenient for me to walk to the venues where my events were held. The room was clean. The staff was courteous.
Cons: The room was missing basic equipment, such as a hair-dryer, hangers, a remote control for the television. The bed was so uncomfortable (too firm).
Location: Short walk to shopping, historical installations, museums.
The staff was courteous and responsive. The room was clean. There was no hair-dryer, although one was provided when requested. There was no remote for the television and no way to operate the television without one. There were only two hangers in the closet area. There was no hot water in the morning for my shower. The bed was as firm as sleeping on a board. The informal lounge for guests was directly outside my door so I had to listen to others' conversations until they retired after 10 pm.

Grear location that needs some love

The experience wasn't terrible but the truth is that they can use some of the dollars and invest them back into the facility(bassi things like new mattresses, redo the wallpaper, paint) It is such a shame that a great location is not take care better.
