Don't Stay Here!!!

Pros: Nothing!!!
Cons: Everything. The location was nice and that is why I thought I would give it a try but I would never actually stay there it was just too unsanitary.
My first clue should have been when the front desk ask me to initial several disclaimers pertaining to lost or stolen items, etc. While doing so I asked specifically if they had problems with such things and was totally blown off. Then I was checked into a room in the basement. The room was tiny, the furniture was old and rickety and the carpet was very dirty. When I looked in the bathroom I was horrified to see that a large section of the inch by inch tiles in the floor of the shower were missing. When I tried to look out the window it appeared to be either painted or bricked in so you couldn't see a thing. When I contracted Travelocity to cancel my reservation I knew I was probably on the hook for the first night but thought a 24 hour cancellation would be fine for the second night. However, when Travelocity contacted the hotel on by behalf they were told I would be charged for the both nights no matter what. When she asked for the manager, she was told that manager would not speak to her and there was nothing that could be done. I checked out and went to find another place to stay. I had to pay more but at least I felt safe and clean.

Accessible to a lot of embassy offices

Pros: The location and security.
Cons: If towels could be replaced with new ones.Front desk must know the area and offices or the banks location, etc. So that questions be answered.
Location: Location is very nice, that's why front desk must know the nearby places of interest so that strangers that visit the place will be helped.
I felt safe and homely with my 2 days stay at the Embassy Inn and for me those count most during my stay.

Unmet expectations

Pros: It is in a quiet, safe neighborhood, convenient for me to walk to the venues where my events were held. The room was clean. The staff was courteous.
Cons: The room was missing basic equipment, such as a hair-dryer, hangers, a remote control for the television. The bed was so uncomfortable (too firm).
Location: Short walk to shopping, historical installations, museums.
The staff was courteous and responsive. The room was clean. There was no hair-dryer, although one was provided when requested. There was no remote for the television and no way to operate the television without one. There were only two hangers in the closet area. There was no hot water in the morning for my shower. The bed was as firm as sleeping on a board. The informal lounge for guests was directly outside my door so I had to listen to others' conversations until they retired after 10 pm.

Grear location that needs some love

The experience wasn't terrible but the truth is that they can use some of the dollars and invest them back into the facility(bassi things like new mattresses, redo the wallpaper, paint) It is such a shame that a great location is not take care better.

Charming from the outside. Run down inside

Pros: Location is good
Misled by desk clerk regarding on the street parking in front of hotel. Rental car was towed by 7 a.m. Coffee and "continental breakfast" charge of $5.00. Not available until 7 a.m. Rooms are small. Carpet is extremely worn and dirty. Spots of blood stain visible on wall. Shampoo/ conditioner/ body lotion provided, but no bar soap. Reserved for 2-nights. Left after 1st night.

Don't be fooled!

Pros: Day staff was nice.
Cons: Need to spend some money on decorating, including painting and fixing peeling wall paper! Need sheets without holes.
Location: 16 th street and R, far walk to metro. No cabs near by. Restaurants on 17th street ok.
From ad I thought it was Embassy Suites- it isn't. It could be a cute boutique hotel, instead it is a shabby disappointing hotel. Wall paper was peeling. Bedding was old. Shower was kept closed by a lug nut, and was one of these corner showers seen at Motel 6 hotels. Door only stayed closed when you were in it, so you had to rely on your knee to keep it closed while you were sitting on the toilet. I was worried about bed bugs- it looked dirty. I did not see any, thank goodness. Day staff was nice, but wouldn't call a cab for you or even supply a phone number for one--you are on your own. I did return to the hotel one evening and no one was there to let me in. Finally, another hotel guest heard our knocks and came to open the door. It is located in a bad spot if you want to catch a cab. You have to walk to DuPont Circle or M street, a good 4 blocks before you see cabs. Metro is 6 blocks away. Some good restaurants close by. Feel like I would have been better at a Motel Six-at least I would have felt like I got my money's worth!

Good location, small rooms, pleasant staff.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
This is a decent place, in a good location. There were a few hitches: check-in time is 2:00 PM, yet by 2:45 our prospective room was not made ready and we had to move to another room. While the free breakfast of coffee, cereals, doughnuts and pastries is a plus, ending it at 9:00 AM on weekends seems a bit too early -- especially since the dining room was under renovation and we were encouraged to take the breakfast to our room. The place is clean and the staff is pleasant. Since we were out most of the time, the size of the room did not matter that much. (Might be different for larger people, or people requiring a lot of services). Would we stay there again? Yes.

Friendly staff and clean accomodations

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
The Embassy Inn is a small, friendly, clean hotel located about five blocks walking to the Dupont Circle Metro station. I found a good deal on a two night stay (less than $200) and was generally happy with my room. The hotel is located on a quiet residential street but is in walking distance to Dupont Circle and Adams-Morgan and the U-Street Corridor. I was surprised by all the new restaurants and bars on 17th Street (I used to live in DC but it's been a few years since I've been here). My room was clean and comfortable. My mattress was a bit old but the bedding seemed clean (no nasty hotel coverlet!). I liked having control of the air conditioning unit, although it was a bit noisy. I had trouble with the television and the wireless access, but wasn't spending much time in the room anyway. A lightbulb burned out in the bathroom but was quickly replaced by housekeeping.

Liliputian rooms but fresh, clean and real value...

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Tastefully and recently renovated so it feels new. Quiet, comfortable, and while my room was small I wasn't in DC to lounge and therefore was very happy. Everything worked. Breakfast OK. Free Washington Post. Awful radio. Chuck, NYC
