Make sure you plan ahead, as there are a limited number of hotel options close to the main area of Gerola Alta.
The Hotel Royal Victoria, Lombardy, which is the nearest Travelocity-listed place to stay, is 13 miles (21 kilometers) from the heart of Gerola Alta. A different easily-reached alternative is the Residence Domaso - Resort & SPA, which is found in Southern Switzerland, 13 miles (20 kilometers) from downtown Gerola Alta.
The Hotel Olivedo is positioned 13 miles (21 kilometers) outside the center of Gerola Alta. Another accommodation option is the Villa Annamaria, which is situated 13 miles (21 kilometers) away. Alternate hotels and apartment options are the Il Giardino di Lory and the Casa sull'Albero.
The larger Lombardy district is certainly worth having a look at too. Check out Lombardy's ruins and also enjoy the area's rural landscapes and rivers. Tireless visitors may also get involved in snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing in the area.

"I was disappointed to find out that I had booked an apartment in the “residence portion” instead of booking a room at the Hotel. It was a complete oversight on my part… so pay attention to what you’re booking!!! While the apartment was clean and had a great view, it was not what I was expecting when I booked. The staff tried to accommodate my offering a hotel room for one night, however it would have been quite inconvenient for me to move multiple times. The staff at the front desk (Alicia and -Rhea and others) are beyond helpful. I made the mistake of not calling or emailing them in advance of the trip. For example I’m sure they would have suggested renting a car and/or let me knows that the only option is to take public transportation, eg crowded, hot ferries and buses or pay up $150 + for a taxi ONE WAY! This is a single most critical thing. I did not realize when booking this trip… Transportation is a mess. The hotel had a DJ one night that we enjoyed very much along with the nice stuff at the pool bar. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a nice view… and while there was quite a variety, it was my least favorite meal of the hotel. The hotel itself is in a rather remote location (we didn’t want to be surrounded by tourists). So if you like that - I highly recommend Filario especially if you stay at the hotel. The beach access is very convenient and there is a beautiful pool although we didn’t use it. The views and quiet mornings of the lake are magical."
