"Elevator was down. I’m not saying that in and of itself was our issue. We fully understand unfortunate mechanical breakdowns happen and you can’t always get an elevator repair crew quickly. Our problem was that the front desk lady did not mention that to us prior to check in. One in our party is permanently disabled and had she told us this, we would have simply found another property to stay at for the night. But she didn’t, and I rolled our luggage in and asked which direction the elevators were. That is when she first said that the elevators were inoperative. I said right then “well you didn’t mentioned that. We would have not gone through the check-in process had you done so”. And in snarky tone she commented back “Oh I did, you just didn’t hear me”. I’m pretty engaging and alert in conversations and although I have no way to prove who was right about the initial check-in conversation, it was the tone and attitude that set wrong with me. Unprofessional response at a best. In retrospect I should have just canceled the stay and found another property to stay at. But we didn’t. The property itself was okay. No major issues with the room, but the stairs were problematic with heavy luggage and for our disabled party. On a positive note though… the lady that prepared and maintained the breakfast area was exceptional!! Extremely welcoming and excellent at her job. A complete professional and detailed in every move she made. Impressive! Give her a raise."
