Awesome home with a great view

This was a perfect house for our ski weekend with friends. Very well appointed, clean and beautiful home. We wish we had had more time but there's always next year.

Schuss Family Weekend

We came with our adult kids and their families to ski and relax. The view is unbeatable and online description is accurate. This year, with the extraordinary snowfall for skiing, we chose to drive and park near the service drive to the mountain (1/8 of a mile maybe), but it is totally walkable to ski. Since this was our 5th year at this home, we knew that it had the pans, etc. to help feed our gang! We did need 4WD to get in and out of the driveway for the first time ever! Other vehicles parked on the road this year. Still, fresh powder was amazing! We hope to return again soon.

Ideal Property and Wonderful Host

Just the right amount of space (5BD/3BA) for our "three part" family. Property was spotless upon our arrival. Many amenities including a gas fireplace, children games, WIFI. Proximity to lifts is five minutes by foot! Pool pass is another major plus. This was our third year.

Winter Weekend

We have found our yearly family winter up north rental! This was a perfect home for our family and we used every bit of the space. The layout is great, well stocked, clean and very close to all Shanty Creek winter outdoor options. When we weren’t playing outside we were inside enjoying meals, the fire place, games and time together.

Awesome views and nice set-up for golf group of 12. Bedrooms were hot 1st night and a toilet ran consistently but both were minor issues. Loved the firepit and and of the view.

Another great stay in the books!

This is our 2nd year staying at this property for our annual ski weekend with friends. Great location and layout to accomodate everyone! Large space, comfortable furniture, Beautiful views, and host, Jerry, is easy to communicate with and accommodated our request to check out an hour later due to daylight savings change. Great time had by all!

Family Ski Gathering

We gathered here again for the fifth year, tho we have been at Schuss every year since 1993. This home is wonderful for our family of three generations. We appreciate the location, expansive views, well appointed rooms and the skiing for our group. We plan to return next year again!

Great place for families

This was a great home for our family. We had 3 families staying here (total of 10 people) and were able to spread out and also enjoy time together. The views were BEAUTIFUL and the place was cozy. There were comfortable couches and a couple of tables for eating and playing games. The location was great; we could even walk to Schuss mountain, but those who were skiing/snowboarding opted to drive for ease of transporting gear and such. We enjoyed being able to use the pool and hot tub at a nearby resort as well. Everything you need is close in proximity (within 15 minutes of the cabin). We enjoyed skiing/snowboarding at Schuss (a very family friendly ski lodge...can't say enough about our great experience at the mountain!), walking the nearby trails, pool/hot tub, the quaint town of Bellaire, and would highly recommend Extreme Tubing at Tree Tops Mountain (a bit of a drive, but SO fun!). The owner is great at responding to communication both leading up to our stay and also while we were there. We have no complaints at all and would happily stay here again.

Fantastic stay!

Jerry's place was the perfect family/friend get away for a large group - the lodge was gorgeous and had a cozy cabin feel and comfortable hangout areas, fully stocked kitchen with large frig, and the view can't be beat - so so pretty and such nice sunsets. Can't say enough good things about this vacation spot! Lots of fun things to do around the area also. I would stay at Jerry's again in a heartbeat.

Great Family Lodge

We spent Thanksgiving at the lodge and had a wonderful time - perfect for three families: everyone had their own floor! One of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed at and the amenities provided everything we needed.

Pleasant stay

Our stay at Scenic View Lodge was mostly pleasant. Large home with plenty of area to spread out. Beds were comfortable. Host was responsive to questions and concerns. Biggest downside was the sewer smell which permeated the house and outside. My son in law found raw sewage bubbling out of the ground close to main floor bathroom. Host had septic pumped promptly. Saw from a previous review this happened one month earlier as well.(?) Despite the sewage problem, our family still made great memories.

Wonderful Getaway

We loved our stay! The place was very clean, comfortable and we had everything we needed. The view from the balcony is stunning! I can only imagine what it looks like in the winter. We were there to boat on Torch lake. We drove about 15 minutes to get to nearest dock to put our boat in. Torch lake is as clear and beautiful as you have heard. Would definitely stay again!

WOW the scenery is not to be missed!

This house is beautiful and most everything you may need was provided. The view from the deck is amazing! My only negative comment would be the septic tank smell prevents you from opening the bedroom windows, even after having it pumped out.

Great stay!

The view was amazing, the beds were comfortable, and the house was clean. The only couple of complaints I had were there were some wasp nests on the deck that were not taken care of, and the house didn't have WiFi. Generally, the WiFi thing wouldn't bother me if I knew there wasn't going to be wifi, but the losing does not mention that wifi is not available, it just says the owner hasn't provided information about it.

Family Ski Trip

This was our third stay at the Scenic View Lodge and it was wonderful. We enjoyed the open floor plan but the pre-teen kids had space to hang out downstairs as well. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything needed for making meals. It was a short walk to the drive up to the pink lift (or two block walk). We continue to enjoy Schuss and have skied every year as a family since 1993, though we have morphed from the young parents to the grand parents hosting 💕 Thank you for sharing this home with us!

Perfect Winter Getaway

Our positive experience with the Scenic View Lodge began well before check-in. The host, Jerry, was responsive and helpful with any questions that we had. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful complementary welcome snack tray and beverages in the fridge. Also received a welcome text upon arrival. Such nice touches. Veronika and her team had the house in immaculate condition! For a house this large, it's nothing short of amazing that it was spotlessly clean. Maintenance wise, everything was working as it should and the general appearance of the house and furniture was flawless. We found the mattresses on all of the beds to be very comfortable and the window treatments afforded appropriate privacy. There were more than ample amounts of flatware, glasses and silverware, all of it decent quality. Finally, there is an unbeatable view!

Great Stay!

This property was perfect for us! Walking distance to the purple lift. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Property very clean. Only one issue, no WIFI. Thankfully we brought a fire stick and were able to use phones as hot spots. Would definitely stay here again!
