This was a lovely hotel for our UP and Mackinac Island adventures! We loved being right on the lakeshore, the breakfast buffet, nightly bonfires with s’mores, and the outdoor pool.

Great location, facilities are well kept and updated very nicely. We took advantage of the outdoor pool, ferry tickets and the view of the fireworks on a Saturday night right from the property. You can also save yourself a parking fee and walk 2 blocks to the Sheplers ferry. Thanks for a wonderful weekend getaway with my family!

Up north weekend getaway

Enjoyed the water views from the room, room was clean and no issues. Bugs all over the balcony kind of a deterrent from enjoying the balcony. Only downside from other hotels is being in a separate building from the main building where you would get breakfast. There was an employee in a golf cart who offered a ride up in the morning and we just walked back down afterwards. It also was interesting to walk into the food area and 3 more employees staged to help? I’m not sure. All in all perfect spot for a weekend getaway up north.

The room was large with two sinks in the bathroom. A plus when traveling with 4 people. Breakfast buffet had a good variety. The only thing I did not like was having to walk outside to get to breakfast. It was 43 degrees when we were there.

I chose to stay at this hotel because of the high rating and to be on the lake front. The hotel itself was very clean and the service was top notch; the staff was very friendly and professional. Because I was on the lake front, I had to drive to the main building for breakfast. Breakfast was very nice, with a great set up and a beautiful view. They did also offer a bonfire at night, but again, because of the bugs, I stayed indoors. The only cons was that the hotel I stayed in was more motel style, which I wasn't expecting. Although the description lists it being on the lakefront, the lake is more near by than directly being on the lake. However, may flies are bad this time of year, so I didn't spend much time out by the lake, but it was a beautiful view. I also could not figure out how to turn the bathroom light off. It was on when I came into the room and there didn't seem to be a switch to shut it off. All in all, it was a good overnight stay.

Only problem was you had to leave your room and go outside to the main lobby area for breakfast and the temperature was in the thirties and then you had to find a place to park. Otherwise all was good and breakfast was good.
