Terrible, smelled like they tried to cover up the smell of mold with a whole bottle of perfume. The staff was rude and told us to start our own bonfire. The pool and hot tub are in a separate building from the rooms. It’s October in Michigan that’s a huge no thank you. We left and had to find another room on the fly. I bought the insurance cause site unseen of course and now I feel like it’s gonna be a hassle to get my money back. I will be calling my credit card company and having the charge removed as we could not stay and the staff didn’t care at all.

Very nice place to stay - especially with a dog! Motel style but well lit, nice, safe parking lots. Beautiful rustic office and breakfast area. Clean. Only reason 4 stars for condition is our king size bed mattress was very springy and lumpy (but that didn’t stop us from sleeping). Shepley shuttle picks up for the Mackinac ferry. Good hot breakfast, coffee all day. Staff is very pleasant and helpful even when tired travelers ask the same question twice. 🙂

It was okay for one night, I don't think I would stay longer. They had a glade plug-in in the room, it smelled horrible, it was attempting to mass pet piss. Once the plug-in was removed, the smell improved significantly. You could hear every move the people above us made. The shower curtain was about 2 feet too long, so it dragged way in the tub, sure it was not changed in between guests. It's an older motel, and the rooms could use an upgrade. Had a fridge, no microwave. The pool and hot tub area was very nice, we enjoyed the hot tub, pool was too cold for us to enjoy. Had a fire pit, grills that you could use, next time would bring smores. The beds were comfortable. Convenient to downtown Ignace and the Casino, and right off I-75.

Middle of the road hotel

Everything was clean, but dated. The curtains in the room were missing some slats. The mattresses were old and saggy- made for a stiff back in the morning. Breakfast had a lot of options. Area was quiet and pretty view of the lake.

Subpar (thank goodness only one) night!

Eeek, our room was pretty gross. Smelled heavily like deodorizer, curtain was falling off the window. Overall condition was run down and dirty. Bed was so old and saggy. Generally pretty poor condition. It looked like the main lodge area may have been a little nicer, but we were across the parking lot in “The Pines”. Only plus is that it was convenient to our friends at the by campground. Don’t recommend and wouldn’t stay here again.

Older property but comfortable place to stay. Patio door slid hard but wasn’t a problem. Could use some more outlets for charging phones etc. Really enjoyed the open space and view from our patio. Lovely place to sit and relax after a day at Mackinac Island. Complimentary transportation to & from the ferry was a nice bonus feature.

I felt like the room could use a little updating. The door to outside was hard to bolt. The rug needs to be replaced. It’s old and has a rip in it. Other then that it’s hard to find a room with 3 beds

The property is old and needs work. It wasn’t dirty, but I wouldn’t say it was clean either. The location was excellent and the breakfast was acceptable. But all in all, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Overall, the outside was fair. Inside the hotel was dated and in a state of disrepair. Carpet was old and smelly, the towels were ripped, the toilet paper was nearly empty, as was the tissue. The breakfast was terrible. Eggs soaking in water, old fruit, bad coffee and even the waffle mix was too runny to properly bake in the waffle iron. There’s plenty of options in that area. We wouldn’t recommend the Red Cedar Lodge.
