Book Hotels in Stanislaus National Forest, CA

"We recently stayed at Timberline Lodge and was during the same snowstorm when the power was out throughout Arnold. We had lost our car to a tree and made to the Lodge. The manager and her husband were wonderful and very caring. They saw our Expedia reservation come in even with the power out and helped us get setup quickly. We were so grateful to have a cozy warm room with the gas fireplace stove. There was hot water and the room was perfect. When we had delays leaving the next day because of the snow and no car, they let us take the time we needed to figure things out. The manager's husband saved us in the end and gave us a ride to Murphy's so we could be somewhere with electricity (and food). He was so kind to do that and we won't forget. Thank you for having such a lovely place and it was beautiful in the snow too! Robert & Marianne"

"The parking was easy, and it was only a 10 minute drive to the mountain. Having a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner was very convenient!"

"The front desk staff is extremely unfriendly and are not interested in helping with anything at all. We had 2 separate reservations for 2 nights ( back to back) under the same name - had to check out and check back in as they said that they are fully booked and can not accommodate keeping the same room for 2 nights. It was extremely painful to take all the luggage to the front desk to keep it until we come back from Yosemite, but more surprisingly, when we checked back in - it was the same villa building just a different room ( with the same arrangement/ layout as we had during the previous night). On the day of the departure, we asked to extend check out time by 30 minutes which hotels around the US as well as the world are easily accommodating, but again, we were told that they are fully booked and can not help us with a up to a 30 mins extension ( even 15 was not an option). However, even at 8 pm of the same day they have a lot of rooms available for booking online ( I guess it was not really the case that they are fully booked). Overall property is nice and traveling with a family is easy when you have 2 bedroom villas, but the staff ( especially front desk) really needs some training. If you are planning to use the spa or/and get some treatment - advance booking is recommended. "
