Great place to stay!

Our first time on St. John. Everything was perfect, optimum location between north and south beaches, house is beautifully placed right on bay shore, equipped with absolutely everything you would need during the stay. Close to shops and restaurants, communication with host also great, having a greater lead us from the dock and giving a tour of the house was really helpful. We had a great time!

Beautiful views and comfy beds

This property was great ! All the previous reviews were correct in saying the pictures don’t do it justice. Beds were really cozy and kitchen has everything needed for your stay. Parking is tight on a main road so if you can squeeze your guests into one car that is definitely recommended !

Amazing!

We were incredibly pleased with the view of this property and the pristine appearance of the house. Entirely the best house we’ve stayed in on vacation by far. Very clean, well organized and stocked with every amenities one would need. Definitely will be back next year.

Super clean and excellent communication

This was our first stay in St. John and we couldn’t have had a better experience with this villa. The property management team was perfectly on time with each communication, very responsive, and made it very easy. The property was very very clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well-stocked, and there was lots of room for our party of 5 to spread out. Stunning views, beautifully decorated. Very highly recommend to anyone.

Great Location, Great House

Very well maintained, beautiful house in Coral Bay. 60 ft over crashing waves with 180 degree views of paradise .Located minutes from restaurants and groceries. Owner was very attentive and easy to communicate with. First day at the house ,we were greeted by a 5 foot Nurse shark swimming by the house on the surface. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this property .

Paradise

This was our first visit to St. John. We were a group of 4 friends. We're frequent travelers, have rented villas around the world and the Cliffhanger has to be by far our favorite to date. The villa is beautiful, clean, well equipped and in a perfect location. We loved Coral Bay. We are already planning our trip back. We highly recommend the Cliffhanger. Thanks to Denise and Jared for making this one of our most relaxing and stress free vacations.

Spectaular week at Cliffhanger

My family spent the week at Cliffhanger. The house was beautiful, clean and well appointed. Could not find a single thing that was missing or needed! Coral Bay is the perfect location. A little quieter than Cruz Bay but with great restaurants, views and beaches. Denise is very attentive to all of your needs. She checks in with you (before and after your trip), answers questions,offers suggestions or helps in any way she can. Lovely house and lovely host. Would highly recommend!

Cliffhanger is Awesome!

The picture display on the website is accurate - you get what you see. The villa is gorgeous, everything is comfortable and easy. Any little problems were quickly attended. We appreciated the parking deck with beautiful entry and lockable gate. We had northerly views into Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole, iguanas lounging in the tree tops, many small lizards scurrying about, frogs nestled in cubbies, and waves gently caressing the shore. Many sights and sounds to please the senses. This lovely villa combined with the island beauty made our family vacation memorable. We hope to someday return.

Cliffhanger is Heavenly!

We loved our holiday week in this truly beautiful spot! We slept to the sounds of the ocean, and woke to ever-changing light and views from the two decks. The house is well-designed to provide both togetherness and privacy for family members. Every bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and all have access to the glorious decks. Thanks to the exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, we prepared many of our meals at home. Indoor and outdoor furniture was all comfortable, and there were multiple hammocks for lounging. A short climb down rock stairs leads to a shaded seating area near the water. Cliffhanger is the best vacation home rental we have ever enjoyed! Great base for exploring St. John’s, and wonderful place for a family gathering!

Nothing short of spectacular!

Nothing short of spectacular! I can’t say enough positive things about our stay at Cliffhanger. The pictures and descriptions online do not do it justice. It is everything advertised and then some. The location is absolutely perfect for those who want to be close to grocery and dining in the smaller quieter area of Coral Bay. We were literally minutes away to a grocery store in either direction. Snorkling at the rocky entry below was fun and easy with reef to the left and right. The views were Breathtaking and the entire house promoted utter relaxation. Jared, Keri and Clare were amazing at communicating and providing us with everything we needed. Easy check in and check out process. We would not hesitate to stay again and cannot wait till our next trip! Thank you!

Fantastic views but

Great views, very clean and nice property. Ok now the bad. Mosquito’s galore. They must be getting in through the screens or the floor. We spent most nights killing 20 to 30 in the main master room. Also the main room with kitchen is not air conditioned. Makes it a real problem when that is the main room family gathers. Also not kid friendly if you need the other rooms for kids beings they are on the second floor away from the main house. Other than chasing mosquitoes every night and being sweaty while we ate this place was great.

Doesn't Get Any Better

My boyfriend and I have been here twice and cannot say enough good things about this house, Denise, the location, the service provided by Jared/Austin, amusing critters that perch outside in the trees and amenities. Everything you need in the kitchen and more. The pictures cannot do the view justice. Beautifully decorated. We like Coral Bay because it has everything we like (beaches, restuarants, grocery) and less of the stuff we don't (crowds). We ran around every day snorkeling at the various beaches (Francis, Salt Pond, Maho, Honeymoon, Salomon, Waterlemon, Lameshur), hiking a few lazier trails, sampling food at the restaurants of Coral Bay (Shipwreck, Aqua Bistro, Concordia, Indigo Grill, Skinny Legs, Miss Lucy's - all very good) and sightseeing. Oh, and an official taste testing of everyone's version of the Painkiller cocktail. There is not one single thing I would change. Except maybe that I owned this gorgeous house instead of sweet Denise. : )

Perfect getaway!

My husband and I traveled 24 hours from the west coast to celebrate our 30th anniversary at this beautiful home, and it could not have been more perfect. We had the pleasure of having it for 2 weeks, so we had time to wind down to island living and completely enjoy. This home was every bit of what we hoped for and more than we expected. They've provided all the comforts you can imagine from the kitchen to the beautiful walk in showers, the bar on the deck, the comfortable furniture, coolers and beach chairs to take to the beach, cd's of island music to play on the ihome. You name it, it had it. We stopped at the store to stock the frig, that was it. - The caretaker of the home was great as well. Just a phone call away if we needed anything.He had done a beautiful job on steps down to the beach. It is a rocky beach, so take your water shoes. Every beach on the island is perfect and the snorkeling was fantastic! And don't forget to hike Rams Head, Reef Bay trail and Johnny Horn trail! The views are spectacular!! Again, we could not have asked for a better location and can't wait to go back!

Cliffhanger is an amazing Villa in Coral Bay. Everything and more that you could need for a relaxing and fun family vaction week. The villa was exceptionally clean, bright and beautiful. The view of Coral Bay from the decks and every room is stunning. Having three private Master Bedrooms worked perfectly for our adult family. Denise was so helpful in setting up the rental and providing us with so much information about the island. Jared was helpful and available when we called.(Thanks) The island is so beautiful with it's North Shore beaches, and remote areas to get away and feel as though you are on a seculded island. We found Maho Bay to be the best Chill Beach! The snorkeling was amazing, especially the swim to Waterlemon Cay. The restaurants have a great island feel offering outdoor dininning. Our favorite was Aqua Bistro. The vacation was perfect and the Villa was more than perfect. We would suggest staying longer than one week, because there are so many beautiful beaches and trails that we couldn't fit into our week. We would love to return to Cliffhanger and share this amazing Villa with friends and family. Thanks Denise for sharing your home.

A perfect vacation

If you're thinking of staying at the Cliffhanger, DO IT!!! Our week at the house was wonderful. The pictures don't do it justice. The house has everything you need, down to the last detail. While we were there I don't think any of us ever wanted something that wasn't there. Even down to having a large selection of Island and other music on mixed discs for listening. The stereo even has an ipod dock if you need it. The Bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable as is all of the furniture. Particularly the deck chairs, which got a LOT of use. The two things that make this house a cut above anything else, however would be the decks and the kitchen/dining room. The decks: pictures don't cut it. The views are incredible. Being able to see the entire Coral Bay harbor, seeing Hurricane Hole and most of the east end of the island and Mount Sage on Tortola beyond makes the deck a destination in itself. And, the kitchen is incredible. It's enormous and well laid out. Having all the amenities of home means you won't have to think about making anything while there. There's nothing at home that you don't have there. Also, the property manager Jared was very, very helpful. The trip was a huge success. Go.

RELAX AND UNWIND

We stayed at this wonderful vacation home with another couple and found it to be as spectacular as other reviewers noted. This is our second visit to St. John and this home did not disappoint. It was spotless, furnished nicely, had everything we needed, was close to the beaches and the local restaurants. We slept like a rock with the comfortable beds and the sound of the ocean waves hitting the shores below. We spent 2 of our 7 days right there at the house and found it was our most enjoyable restful days we spent there. So many nooks and crannies to settle in and relax whether it be the comfortable lounge chairs, hammock, chairs down beside the water, and even reading in bed looking out over the water. It was especially well set up for multiple couples. When we wanted time alone we simply went to our separate deck on the lower level and felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Our days were spent eating breakfast in, packing a lunch and heading to the beach, stopping for happy hour in the afternoon at the Café Concordia for our $4. Painkillers. Yummm. Then we headed back to the house for some reading, relaxation and a nap before heading our for dinner and coming back home for playing cards and board games. We all agreed it was the most restful vacation we ever had. On a calm water morning we headed down below to our own waterfront and snorkeled to the left near the rocks jutting out of the water. Not to be missed! Some of the best snorkeling we did. Fish galore and some really cool coral and rock formations. That was an unexpected treat for never leaving home. Denise was wonderful to work with and we had no issues at all. Would definitely return to this wonderful home. Enjoy!

Amazing views - quality property

I stayed for a blissful 6 days at Cliffhanger. I am a 20 year visitor of this island and have stayed many places across all bays in all types of housing. The quality of this property along with the amazing view was by far the most spectacular I have ever experienced. Getting waterfront property on St. John for a reasonable price is a unicorn on this island - I am so glad I caught a unicorn! It was spacious, clean and modern. The views were beyond beautiful - to left the coral bay harbor with all of it's sail boats, straight ahead a view of the East End with the BVI in the distance, and to the right the open ocean. It was spectacular. The house is located directly off of the main street and I rarely heard a sound. It was wonderful not to have to climb the side of the mountain or down a very steep path to get to your place, something that is common on this island. There were two very large decks - one on the main level and one the lower level so you could be in the sun or in the shade. The property is spacious with three bedrooms. Said differently, if you are with a group and need a break from the crowd, you could easily go hide away on the lower deck in your own room for privacy. :) The hammock and the little path to the shore were so fun! The kitchen was spectacular with every amenity you could imagine. Jared (the property manager), his wife Angie and their little daughter were wonderful people to work with. Denise, the owner, was fantastic. They know the definition of real customer service. The pictures truly did not do it justice. I would highly recommend this space and I look forward to the opportunity to stay here again at some point in the future! IT was convenient, modern and easily accessible. An AMAZING place to stay in Coral Bay

Cliffhanger is a spectacular home to rent in Coral Bay, St John, USVI. The house was updated, and was done very well. The kitchen is grand, and has every possible item one would want to use while staying there. Not only did the house contain the essentials, but it had very nice quality items to use. The bedrooms were very nice and colorful. The beds were extremely comfortable, and had very nice linens and spreads. The bathrooms were spacious, well detailed, and updated. The view is absolutely spectacular, and the deck is the perfect place for meditation or a cocktail. There is a nice sized tv, dvd player, cable, stereo, and ipod docking stations in all the rooms. The house was very clean, and was also equipped with some cleaning items in case you wanted to tidy up while staying there. During our trip, we did encounter some snafus. The house did run out of water, the hot water tank stopped working, and the water delivery truck broke down in front of the house. Now, to some that may sound awful, but we have been to the Island before, and this could be par for the course on St John. Fortunately, there is a wonderful caretaker, Jared, and he addressed the issue immediately. He is available by phone, to answer any questions, and worked very hard to remedy our situation. Denise is very fortunate to have such a great caretaker overseeing the property! One thing that I would like to mention is the layout of the house. It is not what we expected, but was not a negative by any means. When you go into the front door, there is one good-sized common area (kitchen, dining set, den area), along with a full bathroom. The master bedroom is also on this floor with another full bathroom. To access the other bedrooms, you need to walk outside, and down a flight of steps to 2 other well appointed bedrooms with full bathrooms. The laundry area is also down there. The downstairs bedrooms do not have access to the main living area. Just wanted to mention that piece as it was an unexpected part, but did not change our opinion of how wonderful the house is! I highly recommend renting Cliffhanger! Denise (homeowner) is lovely, and is easy to correspond with. Jared is a great asset, and is extremely helpful. If you need a wonderful house to stay in while visiting the amazing Island, please consider this home! Thank you so very much!

Great place to stay! Everyone was so helpful from the time we booked to the time we checked out. We would highly recommend.

Amazing Property!

I highly recommend this property to anyone staying on St. John! No detail was left unattended to. This was a very special place to us as my family owned it years ago. Now we are back as guests, and will keep returning to our special place whenever we can!

Cliffhanger! A perfect house in Coral Bay.

This house was amazing. Views are incredible. Great location to beaches, hiking, etc. but much quieter than the Cruz Bay side of the island. The house is very comfortable. The deck is fabulous. Kitchen is nicely furnished with plenty of cookware and utensils. I especially appreciated that enough basic supplies was provided for our entire stay (toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, etc.). I would love to stay here again!

Great property

Cliffhanger worked out perfectly for our family. The house is well equipped and provided plenty of space for the five of us to spread out. The property manager was very responsive.
