We could walk out of the hotel property and on to the beach. Very easy access to great places to eat. Lots of security around the property Easy parking on the property.

We come to Pearl South Padre every year. This year was very disappointing. Our hall smelled like cigarette smoke despite the no smoking policy. In our room there was black mold at the base of the tub and clumps of hair behind the bathroom door. There was trash in the pool everyday; Empty water bottle, bandaids, foam from cups. Around the pool there were masks, cigarette butts, a shoe insole, and plastic cups left around the loungers. In the parking lot, we saw cups half full of softdrink and styrofoam food containers; price tags and garment labels on the elevator floor. There are garbage cans everywhere, but your guests choose to do otherwise. I guess the people that are staying there have different customs. We went there for a vacation and not a culture shock expedition. Sadly this is no longer the pristine Hotel that we have been use to, so we will be staying elsewhere on next years visit.

The stairs are in bad shape. I asked for a bigger room and id pay difference and they could not accommodate.

The pool bar has tiles falling out that are loose in the pool. The hot tub has plaster that’s coming off and was being pulled out daily. The overhead support beam on the tiki bar broke and wasn’t fixed for roughly 36 hours and even then it was fixed properly. The hotel itself is in need of a lot of maintenance and repairs.

We had a terrible experience. 1) Kids pool was closed. 2) they shut our water due to problems with someone else’s unit but failed to inform us, 3) we experienced so many problems with lack of hot water 3) kids unable to shower 4) I called maintenance at 11 am and they forgot or denied call 4) no electricity or water the night before we check out or the morning we left. Will never stay there again
