The property was in a great location right off the highway and close to the outlets. The only reason my overall rating is a little low because the pool area is open until midnight which is awesome, however it was full with friends of the guests staying. There were people out in the parking lot setting up make shift grill stations to grill food and drinking in the parking lot but weren’t staying at the hotel but had 5-6 kids and 4-5 adults going in and out of the pool to use it. You could tell they weren’t staying at the hotel, just using and overfilling the amenities. My 6 guests and I were trying to use the pool as the rooms per night aren’t cheap, kids bouncing everywhere, loud music, the metal gate slamming shut multiple times until 11pm. I mentioned something to the front desk lady, she didn’t care that the people not staying there were overtaking the pool. She said “if they aren’t disturbing anyone then we don’t bother it.” Well maybe you shouldn’t charge people $230+ per night to stay if anyone can access the property. I would’ve stayed somewhere way cheaper and just accessed the pool until midnight along with the Happy Hour space like I saw other outside people doing.

Loved the property and would stay there again. They were doing some renovations while we visited so property condition was at its peak, but every property has to be maintained. Loved the omelette bar. Breakfasts were wonderful.

Embassy Suite San Marcos McCarty

Upon arrival on Sunday and staying till Thursday I was notified of renovations and construction with alternating water cut off from 9-5 on Tuesday no prior notice given by phone , email, or text stated since I booked through third party with payment in full they had no responsibility to notify. Upon entering room noticed debris on carpet sunflower seed shells around beds hair balls under bathroom cabinet land inadequate number of towels required for 4 people. We made arrangements to be gone all day Tuesday for water cutoff upon returning close 5pm Tuesday front notified me my water would be cutoff on Wednesday from 9-5 and that incorrect day was given and told they could switch to another room but not until water had been restored to available room which turned out be a few hours later again room was not completely ready had not been vacuumed towel under cabinet sink again incomplete for 4 people and noticed they were all wet called housekeeping who did respond timely completed cleanup and replaced towels and would have maintenance for leaks, After speaking to several different desk clerks and managers about compensation for inconvenience I was again told nothing could be resolved as I used a third party service to book stay and needed to take my complaints up with them. I did not have time to look for another place as I was trying to get my granddaughter to her orientation at Texas State University which took a lot of our time Front Desk Staff and Management need improvement
