The hotel was very expensive. The staff were training and didn't know what they were doing very well. The room was sparse. It had no microwave. The shower spills water to the toilet and gets wet everywhere. The dresser was loose and falling apart. For the amount of money we spent, I was expecting a resort room. The room was about as good as a Choice Hotel. No breakfast, no pool, no amenities in the room. Smallest television of any hotel room I have ever stayed in.

The appearance Sebastopol Inn is charming, and the grounds are attractive an well kept. Currently the Inn is renovating its rooms, and unfortunately our recently renovated room lacked towel bars/hangers and a caddy/shelf for soap and shower products in the stand-up shower.

Ongoing construction was a bit noisy. Frontdesk receptionist was not very friendly. I went to check-in and she simply stated... "Check in is at 3pm." She didn't greet me, or offer me an alternative or even ask me my name. ,... So I returned 30 minutes later, on my own initiative, and she said,"Oh you can check in now.

My husband and I needed a place to stay for one night. It wasn't worth $249.99 a night. The staff was very pleasant. It was very clean and , the beds are great with lots of fluffy pillows, the shower is great, but the rooms are a bit dated. The coffee situation was a bit week. The little cafe right next door was very accommodating. We did take a walk looking for a place to eat dinner the night we arrived, we found a very nice restaurant that catered to 'Pork" What a great meal....great people. I would recommend this hotel, only if you're not looking for luxury.

Wonderful experience

Pros: Personal attention and assitance, very knowledgeable staff.
Cons: Drought affected landscaping cannot be helped, still beautiful.
Location: See above
Not only are the owners of this hotel personable and generous but the location is unbelievable! My high school friends from out of town (age 60 reunion) stayed here and I was very impressed. Walking through the nearby downtown friendly Sebastopol was reassuring that small towns centrally located in wine country can thrive and lodging can be affordable. The organic grocer across the street is worker run and supplies locally-sourced amazing products that you will bring back to your room. Walking to excellent restaurants and a nearby environmental preserve can distract you from wonderful day trips throughout a county rich in scenic diversity (ocean, redwoods, water sports - bioluminescence Aug through Oct, wildlife, historic sites, art museums, wine tasting, educational ecology and sustainability) with plenty of adventure for adults and kids. Remember that true living is in the appreciated moment. Stay here, sleep well, and wake for the morning coffee and village bakery fare within steps from your room. Then get started exploring! Best wishes for your well deserved R&R - April
