Friendly and helpful receptionists, beautiful "salon/hall" with a fireplace, welcome gifts for dogs, comfortable bed. I will be back :)

Fairly decent hotel, but a little dated.
Fairly decent hotel, but a tad dated. Rooms were clean, but small springy mattresses. Breakfast was buffet- style and fine. Biggest gripe was the lack of electrical points in the room, as I had to disconnect one of the lamps and was lucky that I had brought an adapter and a euro plug. No table fans or air conditioning ( had to open door to balcony for fresh air).
low checking process, very noisy surroundings , you hear noise of drunk people whole night, no information provided on WIFI and very small bed, Dutch people are big, but the beds are so small ...

Good place -close to center-dog friendly
Location is great -room was clean and comfortable-furniture a bit outdated -bathroom was large - bathtub was too small and rounded up too quick could be dangerous - the step up or step down into the bathtub is huge for those 5’8” or less — not sure why the faucet is so strange.. Breakfast was very good.. People are very nice and friendly - unfortunately parking at QPlein was expensive much more than in Maastricht where we are staying —-overall good place to stay and of course it’s dog friendly so one of the few hotels in Groningen that is..
Location, location, location!
PROS: Nice building in the city center.
We parked for 12 euros/day at the Boterdiep parking garage which was only 10 min walk.
Staff was very friendly and the room was nice. Within 5 minutes there are different kinds of restaurants for dinner and breakfast. Lots of shopping, musea, and other activities. All walking distance.
CONS: The bed was hard, the shower could use a deep-cleaning, and the wifi was very slow. I tried to do some work but got kicked off VPN every couple of minutes.
All in all we did have a good time.

Average, but central
Location very central. (Everything inside the canal circle is!) Staff were friendly. Hotel room was on the small side (and given it’s covid and doubt hotel was anywhere near fully booked, surprised they wouldn’t have tried to give us nicer rooms - we’d booked 2). Non-existent view from our side of the building. And next to a school so during break times noisy - if you’re thinking of having a window open and trying to make a work call! Breakfast was included in the rate we paid, but was pretty underwhelming. Though central courtyard - weather allowing - was nice to sit out in. Overall, very average. Wouldn’t particularly enhance a holiday stay, but nothing wrong with it as such. Did charge us twice for the city taxes - still waiting at the time of this review for a refund. And eco measures could be A LOT better. No recycling in the room, lots of little plastic bottles for toiletries, and given fresh towels even though we’d hung ours to use again.
