I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, but there are a few minor issues that would make this a great hotel. First and foremost, the staff is outstanding, but you cannot get any food until 4 o’clock. Our room was spacious and quiet as was the courtyard. The problem arises when you go to the pool area being on Bay Street. It was quite loud with traffic noise. While we were sitting at the pool, I would’ve liked to been able to order some food and drink. This was not an option for this hotel. Again, I would stay at this hotel because the staff was outstanding and the room was well kept and quiet, but not for the pool area and lack of food service this would’ve been a five star hotel.

The room was dated and not well maintained. Bathroom ceiling peeling, closet knob missing, bathroom hook missing, bathroom vent not working, dirty glasses at the minibar area, main door paint peeling, hallway many carpet stains, breethway had red wine stains on the floor for two days and the faucet at the ladies bathroom in the lobby area is leaking.

Lovely boutique hotel

I booked this hotel for the historic area and for the pool. It’s amazing how few hotels have pools as they are mostly in older buildings in the area. The hotel is wonderfully designed and decorated, with an amazing smell as you walk into the lobby. It was a bit of a hike across to my room, but it was very quiet, even though on the Main Street along the waterfront. One minor quibble was that the coffee downstairs was Luke warm at best, the front desk clerk went above and beyond one morning at heated mine up for me. For my second cup I went around the corner for a hot coffee! The pool, unfortunately was not staffed at all with any food or drink except on the weekend. I was really looking forward to lunch and a beer by the pool, but I was there mid week. The restaurant is not open either for breakfast or lunch during the week.
