HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Pros: THE GROUNDS WERE NICE; THE FOOD WAS GOOD FOR THE PRICE, I.E., EXTREMELY GOOD SALADS; THE BEACH AND SEA WATER WAS VERY NICE
Cons: COMPLETE RENOVATION OF ALL BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS/AC AND FURNITURE. NEW MANAGEMENT AND MOST OF FRONT DESK PERSONNEL
Location: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO BE DONE IN THE CITY OOF BOCA CHICA: YOU ARE STUCK TO THE HOTEL POOLS AND BEACH UNLESS YOU GO ON SOME TRIPS.
HOTEL BATHROOMS ARE SUPER ANTIQUATED (OLD TILE/MILDEW/RUSTY FOCETS AND PIPING/COUNTERS BOWING AND REINFORCED WITH 2X4 STUD HOLDING COUNTERS FROM FALLING TO THE FLOOR/OLD SINK AND TOILET/RUSTY PLUMBING). AIR CONDITIONER CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED-ROOMS ARE EITHER TOO HOT OR TOO COLD. BATHROOM TOWELS (ONE PER CUSTOMER) ARE COLLECTED EARLY IN THE MORNING AND NOT BROUGHT BACK UNTIL LATE IN THE PM: NO TOWELS DURING THE DAY TO TAKE A SHOWER. STAFF ON TOP OF CUSTOMERS NOT TO USE MORE THAN ONE BEACH TOWEL PER DAY. FOR THREE DAYS NO SHAMPU WAS PROVIDED BECAUSE STAFF INDICATED THAT THE HOTEL HAD RUN OUT OF SHAMPU. FOR THE FIRST FIVE NIGHTS THE AC DID NOT WORK: THE FIRST DAY WE COMPLAINED TO THE FRONT DESK (LOBBY), RENALDO FROM EXPEDIA WAS THERE AND HE HIMSELF TALKED TO THE HOTEL PERSONNEL INDICATING THAT WE DID NOT HAVE AC IN THE ROOM. WE KEPT ON COMPLAINING EACH DAY TO A CHUBBY AND SHORT YOUNG LADY WEARING GLASSES IN THE FRONT DESK UNTIL ON DAY 6 AT 4:30PM WE GOT TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE IN THE FRONT DESK AND IT WAS WHEN WE GOT MOVED TO A ROOM WITH AC. THE FOOD WAS GOOD FOR THE PRICE AND THE DINING ROOM WAS NICE AND CLEAN. THE GROUNDS ARE MINICURED AND NICE. THE POOLS ARE CLEANED AND NICE. THE BEACH AREA, EVEN THOUGH CROWDED, IS OK. ALL IN ALL, IT IS NOT A PLACE THAT I WOULD EVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE DUE TO THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICES AND LACK OF AMENITIES THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PROVIDED BUT DUE TO THE DOWNWARD SPRIRAL OF TURISM, ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN STAFF, LOTS OF CUTTS INTENDED

Great gardens hotel that uses the public beach

Overall, had a pleasant stay. Check-in took awhile - Junior Espinosa is not so friendly and ended giving me a third floor room looking towards the back trees of the hotel and the a/c didn't work efficiently. Rosa is more professional than all of them put together in the front desk. Very attentive and courteous. She found me a better room in the first floor near the pool area and the a/c worked fine. At the food area, the head administrator Mrs. Cuello is an angel of a lady and the best table assistant is Luciano✅

Good value for the money

Pros: nice staff, shows are good, great food at caribeno restaurant, security 24/7, ac is great, very close to bus stops to travel nearby/ capital
Cons: lots of locals on the weekend, bathrooms not up to date, food in buffet does not vary much, disco plays mostly spanish music, reservations for dinner
I have been to this resort at least 4 times. Overall, it is an alright place to go if you want to stay somewhere that is inexpensive but still nice enough to relax then this is the place. The rooms are decent but that bathrooms could use some real updating. It is all inclusive but the food options are limited, even in the buffet which doesnt vary its items that often. The best place by far at the resort is Caribeno restaurant. The best food I have ever eaten at that resort. All very fresh and delicious. They have 2 pools one quiet and one wth music playing. The animation team is very friendly and coordinate the nightly shows and entertainment at the resort. All in all this place has a lot of potential to be a great resort but there are a lot of litte things that make you say thsi wouldnt happen at a resort in Punta Cana or Puerto Plata. For instance: food runs out at the buffet and at least 15 minutes can before it is replaced (not all the time), bathroom fixtures, often in shower, do not function properly, some things in the room do not work (lamps, outlets, etc..), disco only plays spanish music, not much things to do. The one thing that I may see that would deter americans from this place is that on the weekends there are a lot of locals at the resort. I dont mind them, but there are some that could spoil the experience for you. Many of them are nice and friendly but there are some who are there only to drink all day. The bad o0nes do not treat the staff well and are usually the most difficult at the resort. Aside from that, from monday throughthursday it is a great place to relax. And like everywhere, if you treat the staff well and tip often, they will be kind to you as well and can make your experience 2-3x as good. This place does have its pro's and definitely its cons, but I cant help but keep returning to this "cubic zirconia in the rough".

Loved the place

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: No free Internet
The first night was rough due to no air conditioning, but when I addressed the front desk they were fast and switched my room. Everything from then on out was wonderful. Food was great, staff were great, I am currently looking to go back in July. Thanks

Could Have Been Better

Pros: Quiet
Cons: bad food
I'm Dominican myself, and trust me there are great places to stay in DR and this is not one of them. The resort is a compound in the city with barb wires on the walls, the beach is public and you have to walk through a long and dark path just to get to it. I was concerned with my safety, there was not a large selection of food at the buffet, the room looked and felt cheap. I will never stay at this hotel / resort again!
