Don't accept a room overlooking the street. There is no sound barrier, even with the doors shut. You will hear everything outside all night long. The excuse we got from the staff is that it’s an old building and they aren’t permitted by the city to alter the front of the building due to its history. That’s fair but it shouldn’t then be rented out as hotel rooms.

This was our second stay in two weeks as we booked this hotel prior to and after a cruise. Our room was not ready at 4 pm but the staff let us know far in advance and we were able to plan accordingly. To compensate they upgraded us to a fantastic room that was really nice and quiet. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The location is great for cruise ship guests and the area is lively and has many great dining, shopping and nightspot locations to choose from.

I stayed at Armas Hotel during the San Sebastián feasts in Old San Juan. It is an excellent location for walking the city. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The AC worked well. It is very close to shopping, dining, sight-seeing; everything I wanted to do! My room was one of the more modest ones and didn’t have an iron or a closet, there was a hook from the wall with hangers, which was sufficient for me. The staff did provide a steamer for clothes. The staff is very responsive and courteous. I highly recommend it if you’d like to be in the center of Old San Juan 👍
