Location: Right near Powell & Market
If you are looking for convenient, clean, basic, inexpensive, and only utilitarian this is it.

Perfect location

Pros: Location
Location: Shopping, restaurants, Union Square, cable cars, street cars
Our room at this hotel reminded me more of a small apartment than a traditional hotel room. You can tell that the property is old but the style is funky and chic. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge. The location of this hotel is seriously perfect. Lots and lots of shopping within walking distance, close enough that you can stop back at your room to drop off bags. The cable car pick-up/drop-off is also only a couple blocks away. There is a large Walgreens directly across the street that has a grocery store for supplies. I would absolutely recommend staying here if you're looking for a room close to all of the downtown action.

Extremely disappointing.

Pros: The staff was very nice.
Cons: The details of each room.
The room was so small my husband and I had to take turns moving around. The details of the room on line never stated the room was the size of a closet. We were charged $15 for wifi, bottled water we never received and for the "complimentary wine".

Dear Guest, Thanks you very much for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to write a review about your stay. Are standard room are indeed on the smaller side, maybe a Premium King would have been closer to your expectations. The bottle of water should have been in your room, I am sorry if you didn't receive it. Thank you for your kind words about the staff. Best regards,

Awesome location, wonderful staff!!

The staff was phenomenal, the room was perfect. They even had pancakes, eggs and sausage in addition to your standard muffins, fruit and oatmeal. The fact the breakfast was free was a definite plus. I can't rave enough about the staff. My flight wasn't until 11:50pm and they kept my luggage while I went out sightseeing. Even told me I can relax in the lobby area and watch a movie or catch up on work using the free wifi until I was ready to head to the airport. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything at a price I could not believe. I will be going back.

Room is tiny but clean and quiet. Broken shower.

Pros: Quiet and clean room.
Cons: Service, pluming. Room is very dark and could use some bright light bulbs. No AC.
I thought it would be fun staying in a boutique hotel right on Powell at Union Stations. Great location. Granted, I paid for the least expensive room ($215) that was listed but the room is so small the door bangs into the bed. No window and no A/C. That's understanding, but the broken shower is not. No matter how I turn the control, I could only get steaming hot water. I called the front desk. An assistant came to the room, inspected, and admitted it was installed wrong, and promised to send in the plumber first thing in the morning at 8am. I had to checked out by 9:15 am. No shower for me and no one came to fix anything. Disappointed and will not stay there again.

Everything was amazing!

Pros: Location is amazing and so is the decor. I just wish you could see more from the patio in the penthouse suite.
Location: EVERYTHING!!!!
The entire stay was amazing. I was there with a guy friend of mine, We were in rm#631 Cable Car penthouse which was amazing. i only had a few problems with this place... i.e The half full bottle of Evian left in the fridge and the woman working at the desk one night telling me that an extra $100 would be added to my bill for someeee reason??? and woman whom i checked out with the next day was much nicer and wasn't sure what the other woman was referring to.

Great Location!! Room size a bit too small for us.

Cons: Air Conditioning in the room.
Location: One block from Shopping District ( Market Street), great location for dining and tourism. Advice: take public transit.
Location PERFECT, Rooms size very EUROPEAN, biggest issue the hotel had no air conditioning. The room had an amazing ceiling fan which was wonderful with the bay breeze flowing through. Staff were pretty awesome and helpful.

Highly recommended

This is an older hotel that's been nicely updated. It's fun, feels fresh and a bit quirky (in a very good way), and is in a pretty good location overall. This hotel was comfortable and clean, and a is great alternative to the big names and facilities that charge so much more. To us, a hotel is a place to sleep and a location to start your day, not a place to stay during the day. So, we'd prefer to skip the high rates and excesses that come with many other hotels in this area.
