Very convenient to restaurants in Little Italy

Location: Take the Trolley for an overview of San Diego. You can also get on and off whenever you want to explore. We loved the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park.
The hotel was centrally located in Little Italy for finding excellent restaurants in walking distance. Since parking was limited, we found parking was a challenge. Their parking lot only parked a total of ten cars. The room was small but we were out and about and did not stay in the room except to sleep and change clothes for the next adventure. There was one window that had an air conditioner that blocked any light from coming into the room which eventually was a little depressing. The staff were very friendly and helpful when giving directions as well as when we needed anything for our room. The continental breakfast was minimum at best but as I said we could very easily chosen to walk a block to a coffee house.

Really helped me out!

Pros: My room was great, and everyone was super friendly. The included breakfast had a lot of variety, and everything was fresh and tasty.
Location: The hotel is located right in Little Italy, with easy access to restaurants, shops and things to do.
I was in San Diego for a conference, and my light home was cancelled due to a blizzard back in Boston. The place I was staying was completely booked, so I needed somewhere else to go. The staff here were great! I was able to drop my bags off early during the last day of the conference, and they held them at the desk. My flight home was two days away, and I was able to get work done outside in the sunshine and also in their little office off the lobby. The wifi worked great in my room too, but I couldn't stay away from the nice weather! The location is great - right in Little Italy and close to lots of restaurants, shops etc... I walked to the Harbor one day, and to Balboa park another day. When I go back to San Diego, I will definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel for the price with friendly staff

The hotel is in an interesting area, little Italy, with a lot of nice restaurants around. It is a bit from the convention center, but the train is nearby and provides convenient transportation around the city. The rooms are a little older and small, but the hotel was reasonably cheap. For what I paid, I was expecting something far less nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good relative to other free hotel breakfasts. They had really good quality pastries and fruit, amongst other things.

“Great Hotel for our needs ..... walking distance

Pros: The location ... walking distance to cute shops, restaurants, trollely. Staff are thoughtful ... helpful. Room spacious.
Cons: Need a soap holder in the shower. Had to buy a glade fragrance for the bathroom.
Location: Love ... loved the location. Walking distance to shops & restaurants ... nice evening walks ... felt safe. Close to trollley, to Gaslamp, Seaport
When we found this hotel online ... it met our needs. We flew into San Diego and we needed a room that is in middle of Little Italy. We came here for our 43rd Wedding Anniversary and just wanted to explore this area. It has been over 30 yrs since our last visit to SD. Cute and spacious room ... and they surprised us with a tray of bottle of wine, roses, candies ! :) Vincent and Machelle brought the tray ... with a big smile !! That was so thoughtful. We picked the Superior King ... roomy 2 nights. We loved ... loved the location ... no car ... we're in middle of Little Italy ... loved our walks with my Honey. The restaurants were wonderful. We dined at Sogno Di Vino, Civico 1845, Napizza. Great food. A block from the Wonderful Eateries and shops. During our walks, we would meet some local people ... and met 2 wonderful couples ... friendly and also another lady with her dog ... friendly ... they were so easy to visit with. See locals walking their dogs. Close to the Trolley .. and wanted to explore. Went to GasLamp ... explored ... had lunch there. Took the Trolley and took the green line and just to see how SD is now. Wonderful place ... for the price and the staff are friendly and helpful. Oh yes ... they also offer Continental Breakfast. They have juices, coffee and flavored water all day. Just a delightful and wonderful experience.

Little Italy Boutique hotel

Pros: Very friendly folks, explained everything we needed to know about the surrounding neighborhood (parking, etc)
Cons: Parking
Location: The hotel is on the edge of Little Italy, great eats! Farmer's market on Saturdays. Really friendly community. Excellent weather! Train, trolley close
Although there is a construction boom going on right next door, we loved our stay at Urban Boutique Hotel in San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood. It was lively, colorful, friendly, and had lots of dog lovers in the community. The people made us feel welcome as if we lived there, too.

Pros: Location, staff, room was comfortable
Cons: More tables/chairs for breakfast (possibly outside)
Location: Little Italy for good food and proper coffee. Close to Balboa Park and shore.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location and next to Little Italy. Quite a good breakfast, although difficult to get a seat.

Nice modest hotel in the heart of Little Italy

Pros: All of the above.
Cons: I would add another lock inside the room for extra security.
Location: Balboa Park is about a 30 minute walking distance. There are a large variety of restaurants and small shops walking distance. Best to not have a car.
I stayed for one night only and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly and helpful with assisting me to get to some near-by places. There is a good quality continental breakfast included. The hotel is in a refurbished, older building and is clean and comfortable; a refrigerator and large screen TV is in the room. You cannot beat the price!
