We booked The Atwood Hotel last minute around 10pm for a quick overnight stay after visiting San Diego. We prepaid, arrived at 2am, and the front desk agent said he was about to start canceling reservations and that they were sold out — even though rooms were still showing online. It felt like an excuse to give us one of the leftover rooms, which often happens with third-party bookings. The room was dark with only one lamp, the outlet by the bed didn’t work, the bathroom paint was peeling, and the shower tile was stained. It worked for a few hours of sleep, but it’s definitely not an 8.0 property. Wouldn’t stay again.

The staff were perfect very attending when needing something. We got first floor room so the person on top of us was stomping loudy but the rest of the nights were perfect no one bothering. Hotel is close by everything and next to the freeway so easy access. Liquor store is expensive but close by which is convenient.
