Staying in this hotel is like going back in time, while enjoying modern amenities and a spacious room. The historic building is meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean. The staff creates an atmosphere that makes every guest feel at home. The hotel is at the heart of the city, at a walking distance to historic and cultural sites. I will be happy to stay at Riverwalk Vista at any time. Highly recommended!

We entered the Riverwalk Vista Suites and Stepped back into old World charm, Quiet space, and Genuine staff; centered in the heart of the Riverwalk area. Wow, perfect after a day of noise and chaos of a tourist mecca; that is literally directly out the door of this Boutique hotel. We loved the Contrast.

a quaint hotel, cozy, many little details: snacks, wine, cookies, robes, umbrella. Wonderful staff, very helpful! There is a lot of street noise on some nights.

Great location

Cons: No parking, had to find your own. Big public lot across the street.
Right across the street from Riverwalk and a short walk to the Alamo. Perfect location!

Fantastic! Best spot on the Riverwalk.

Pros: The staff, the decor, the location, and the price. Perfect.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a workout room for those of us who get up early to start burning off a few calories before the day gets too hectic.
Location: Alamo, historic market place, Tower of the Americas, museums, and restaurants everywhere. The Riverwalk is visible from your room and access is easy.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Right from the start, Raymond showed us all the amenities the hotel offered. He then took about an hour of his busy schedule to show us on a map he provided all the best locations we could walk or drive to. Though you are right over the nightlife, the rooms proved adequately soundproof that one could still get to sleep even with the multitude of traffic and people enjoying themselves at the many locations right on the street. We were only about two blocks from the Alamo and about 10 blocks from the Tower of the Americas. We had access to the Riverwalk right across the street. We were able to walk to many museums, the historic market and any restaurant we desired. Our car was safely tucked away in the public parking garage (which is located right over the San Antonio police station--no worries of vandalism or break-ins here) which we could see from our window only one block away. Each evening we enjoyed complimentary wine and snacks before venturing out to great dining within walking distance. And each morning we were treated like royalty with a fantastic breakfast. The rooms are in a turn of the century theme as is the entire hotel adorned with memorable photos and tasteful artwork. The rooms are very clean and the staff has your room made up easily by noon each day. Should our travels bring us to San Antonio again, this will be the first pick on my list for lodging. You will not be disappointed staying here. Check it out.

Great Experience

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Parking, but that is a San Antonio issue, not a hotel issue...
Location: Easy walk to Convention Center, River, Alamo, and just about anything else downtown you want to do...
Nothing to complain about except air conditioner did not seem to work completely 100%. It was a "work" trip, but it was so relaxing and enjoyable thanks to where we stayed. Was beautiful, staff was more than helpful, it was clean, roomy, historical, and other than parking (which is a pain in SA anyway), it was perfect. Breakfast was phenom, complimentary hotel baked cookies (the smell alone...ah) and wine each night, and able to view the river parade right from leather bound comfy chairs...not bad at all!!! :) definitely going back...

Perfect location!!!

A block from the Alamo, right next to the Riverwalk, and near downtown. The hotel was very comfortable, very quaint, and a lot of antiques throughout the facility. Awesome staff.

Fantastic ambiance and location!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, great ambiance, small intimate
Cons: Noisy
We came to San Antonio for a family reunion and rather than stay at the generic Marriott where it was being held, I opted for something different. San Antonio is a historic city and I wanted an historic hotel. The Riverwalk Vista did not disappoint . In a building dating from the late 1800's, right across from the Riverwalk ( and several restaurants) , 2 blocks from the Alamo and 4 blocks from our reunion, it had the perfect location. It was walking distance to most everything. Our room had a lovely view of the SkyTower and on the 4th we had a great seat for fireworks. The small size of the hotel gave it great intimacy and the staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious with exposed brick walls, tall ceilings and wood floors. The slate shower was a dream. The only drawback was the street noise since its located at the juncture of two busy streets. However, the double paned windows and sound machine made it possible for us to sleep soundly. The continental breakfast each morning was a nice plus. When we return to San Antonio for another visit, the Riverwalk Vista will be our first choice for a place to stay.

Good value for the money

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, dvd collection of classic movies
Cons: wifi did not work as well as i would like
A neat place to stay. A historic hotel with very courteous staff. The room itself was okay...nothing special but nothing glaringly missing. However, worth the cost of the hotel. There were nice amenities such as complimentary wine/happy hour in the evening and a great DVD rental section. Felt safe and close to riverwalk. If I were back in San antonio, would stay here again.

Great value next to the riverwalk

Pros: Close restaurants
The hotel is situated near everything you want to do in Downtown San Antonio. The service was great and the rooms made the most of it's 19th century building. I recommend this hotel if you don't need a bar and pool to be happy.
