Waterless Day

Property is very nice but area was ravaged in the past by a fire. We did not have water on Friday Day so we could not shower or use the restrooms 9am - 4:30pm thus losing and changing our plans for that day.

Very nice house

House is a 10 out 10. Clean and well stocked. Sadly it sits in the middle of burned out forest. There was road construction all day long with semi’s going past the house. I understand it’s due to the fires and while I have great sympathy but they need to state the issues in the listing. Also the parking has been redone and you now have to carry luggage and supplies up the hill.

Great property. Drive to the property on Cedar Creek was depressing with all of the fire damage all the way up to the house. Semi Trucks lined up and started at 5:30am everyday to load fire damage. Otherwise a great property and very pet friendly.

Nice house

The house was just as described. Very nice place with plenty of room. The one thing I would change is the Hot Tub! It was on the very bottom and had to many stairs to get to it. It was good exercise for me! I would recommend this house to anyone! It was so peaceful and nice! Although it is was not the first choice due to the fire and flooding it was the one we could get. Some how the web site hasn't changed to the one we stayed at. That would be the only trouble we had. Loved it!

Wonderful cabin!

We had such a wonderful stay! This cabin has modern amenities but has classic cabin features. We also really enjoyed the decor- beautiful artwork! We also appreciated the bed setup in each room to accommodate for families to share. Thank you so much!

Mountain Magic in Ruidoso! 5-Star Escape at Spotted Owl cabin

This cabin was an absolute dream! From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The spacious kitchen was a chef's delight, allowing us to whip up delicious meals every morning and evening. We loved cozying up in the comfortable living room and catching a movie on the large screen TV after a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. Speaking of beautiful surroundings, the hot tub and decking was the perfect way to unwind under the star-filled sky. The fenced in backyard was a haven for my chihuahua, who spent hours happily running around and sniffing out all the new scents. As a birdwatcher, I was thrilled! I spotted at least six different species flitting around the property, adding to the peaceful ambience. But the wildlife sightings didn't stop there! We were lucky enough to see majestic elk, curious turkeys, and even a band of wild horses during our stay. The entire neighborhood exuded a sense of tranquility, making it easy to understand why some people would choose to call this place home. Overall, our stay at the Spotted Owl cabin was truly unforgettable. The cabin itself was exceptional, the location was perfect, and the abundance of wildlife made it a nature lover's paradise. We can't wait to return someday!

Home away from home

Our family and fur babies loved our stay @spotted owl. It was clean, cozy and pet friendly. We would definitely stay again. Hoping that in the future they think about placing a king size bed in master bedroom. That would make our stay even better.

Great place for my wife and me and our two dogs

Love that there was a fenced in back yard for our dogs. The cabin was very clean and we had everything we needed. Wildlife was an added bonus.

Family vacation in the woods

Left the heat of West Texas to escape to this gem in the woods of Ruidoso. It is a very well appointed cabin that comfortable fit all 5 of us. We had a great time and we would return again next time we are in town.

summer vacation

The property was very nice, clean and updated. We would definitely stay there again. The only thing I could say that we wished was different was the grass in the backyard was pretty tall in spots, so it was hard for our small dog to find a place to us the bathroom. My husband called maintenance about it but we did not get a response. This was a minor issue. We had a great stay!

Cozy Mountain Getaway

We travel a lot and the Spotted Owl mountain house was the best place we’ve stayed. The location to town is perfect. The house is tucked away in a nice neighborhood in the forest but only ten minutes from town and everything else. We saw tons of wildlife in the neighborhood every day (wild horses, deer, elk, chickens.) The owners of this home have thought of every little detail to make it easy to find things and to make you feel right at home. The home was spotless and the little touches made the place so inviting and comfortable. We loved enjoying the views from the front porch in the morning. We actually saw three deer right on the property. Movie nights in front of the stone fireplace were a good way to relax after a busy day outside enjoying nature. The hot tub in the backyard was private and the perfect place to star gaze after a long day hiking. The linens were fresh and fluffy, the beds and couch were comfortable and the entire home was spotless. We cooked a few dinners while we were there and the kitchen had everything we needed. All of the appliances are brand new. The layout of the home is open and spacious yet cozy at the same time and the decor is perfect for a mountain house! Thank you to the owners who are willing to share such a special place with others. You make your guests feel like family with the way you care for your mountain house. There is a lot of love in that home and all guests are bound to feel it. When we return to fRuidoso we will always stay at the Spotted Owl! My little girls are already asking when we can visit again.
