We arrived at the hotel to find the front door locked. There was a sign on the door saying that they are closed. Apparently forever. The Hampton Inn next door honored our reservation. I would have appreciated an email telling me this information.

I’m pretty bummed out. I stay in Roseburg a couple of times a year for the last 15 years. I have stayed several places and once I found the windmill inn, I haven’t been anywhere else. People are friendly, rooms clean and beds comfy. Also a decent breakfast. Can’t ask for much more. This last stay was terrible. Girl at the counter barely spoke to me, room was ok but smelled a little like garbage. Overall it seemed clean. The bed was really uncomfortable. Pillows rock hard and there was literally springs poking us in the back at night. At one point, I was nearly stabbed in the hand by a spring while I was getting out of bed. Come to find out, they are tearing the place down and moving to a Hilton being put up right next door. No wonder. I’m sure they aren’t investing in replacing anything and I suppose I am lucky it seemed pretty clean. Also, maybe 15 cars in the lot all night but they put me in a room next to storage so I was woken up at 6am by someone opening and closing a door and banging around on stuff in the storage closet. Well, after many years of being a great place, you have finally disappointed.

Check in was great! Pleasant staff made check in and check out easy. The common areas and my room were clean. The furnishings were nice, the bed comfortable, the motel was quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

Convenient and comfortable

Although the Windmill is a dated property, it's been well maintained. It's conveniently located for wine tasting, restaurants and freeway access. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet. Staff was especially welcoming and the delivery of the requested wine glasses with prompt and cordial.

Ok, Room smelled musty

We were here for a Tennis Tournament for our daughter. This hotel is old and the rooms smell musty. The iron didn't work and when they cleaned our room they didn't give us any new towels. We had to call the front desk and and ask them to bring us up towels. The location is good, right off of the freeway. FYI - There is a new hotel right across the the street from this one, and we will be staying there next time we visit Roseburg.
