The toilet didn’t work. The beds were dirty, lots of brown stains on the mattress, the staff was asleep on the couch when we arrived AND when we left, the toilet flooded. It just stunk, the shower was one temperature. we ended up switching hotels after the first night.

Dirty, smells like mould, AC doesn't work. Staff at reception lied that it was OK to cancel since AC was broken and hotels.com lied that everything was ok and i could leave the hotel. Turns out both lied and they claim no refund after 3 days of silence. Avoid hotels.com and avoid this hotel.

I am very upset and disappointed with this hotel. The pictures are not like the reality. I arrived at the hotel and the room was dirty, there were no towels, the room was filthy with mold, and the location is dangerous.

I liked the accommodation is staffed throughout day and night, and that you can leave your key there if you want to so you don’t need to worry about losing it when going out partying or to the beach. Staff was kind and the area is pretty convenient between beaches in Ipanema & Copabana. They changed towels everyday which I wasn’t expecting and thought was nice.

Needs a facelift

Hotel is looking very tired and badly in need of a makeover. Lift doesn’t work which is less than ideal with luggage especially as you have to go up an external flight of steps to reception. Breakfast is very basic. Hotel is in a good position for walking to both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches.

A lot of fake reviews on this place without a doubt. The man helping with the bags and the cleaning woman were super helpful and very kind. The woman working at the front desk should not be speaking to customers - just awful to deal with and kept trying to scam us for more money. Room is busted up and awful. Needs new ownership and management it seems.

Photos are misleading

Got a single room and the room looked nothing like the photos on the hotel page. The room was the size of a closet, the walls were paper thin so that I woke up every time someone went up or down the stairs, and the hot water didn't work at all. The only saving grace was that the hotel staff were all very nice and spoke reasonably functional English for check in.

My experience at this hotel was quite disappointing. The room, sheets, towels, and even the sofas in the lobby were all extremely dirty. The bathroom had no hot water, and to make matters worse, the curtains and bed linens were not only dirty but also full of holes. I don’t understand how some people in their reviews claimed the hotel was clean—they must have a very different standard of cleanliness. The breakfast was very basic, with some fruits and possibly other items that seemed stale. To top it off, the elevator wasn't working, which was a major inconvenience. The only positive aspect was the staff, who were polite and friendly, and the location was somewhat decent. While I understand this hotel is affordable, that still doesn't justify the lack of cleanliness.

Para quem não sabe andar no rio, é pego de surpresa com o hotel sendo localizado na entrada de uma comunidade, o que já assusta de cara. O elevador não funciona, sendo necessário subir pelas escadas, o que dificulta muito levar malas, e ainda mais se estiver com crianças. Os quartos são básicos, o que serviu pra mim, porém tive problema com o vaso, que não descia nem uma necessidade. O café da manhã também é bem básico: tem ovos, pães, bolo, frutas, é que não maioria das vezes, estavam passadas. Senti falta de salgados como pão de queijo. O que mais ajuda numa boa avaliação, são as pessoas que trabalham lá, não tive problema quanto as equipes, pois ficamos seis dias. Vale a pena se o hotel não for de extrema importância, como para mim, que foi apenas para deixar malas, dormir e tomar café. Acredito que existam locais melhores, caso seja importante para você um hotel!
