Room was not ready for check-in at 4:20pm. Had to wait 25 minutes. 1st room had no TV reception & safe was not working. 2nd room, entrance door lock did not work upon arrival, both phones not working, night stand light in living room not working, ceiling light in bathroom not working, mini bar refrigerator door would not close, hair on shower floor and on hair dryer handle, bathtub did not look clean, when i used a wet wash cloth on the bathtub bottom, it came out black, made restaurant reservation and concierge made the reservation for the evening on the day that I was leaving in error.....never saw or talked to a manager. Very poorly run hotel!

The Resort was amazing, however the supervisor Gene was dishonest with telling us the resort will provide me a birthday meal for my birthday at one of the restaurants that was not included in the all inclusive , however once in the restaurant we had to pay for a Lobster meal. When we confronted Gene the next day about the issue, he said we should not have paid and that it was a mistake and we would be reimbursed. At that point it was a daily chase getting the money from him. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. He finally gave us the money with an attitude after we had to ask him for five days. Also on my itinerary it clearly states the hotel had vouchers for $1000.00 per stay. When we asked about the vouchers they said they didn't have any and never gave them to us. Should not advertise if you are not going to honor it. These issues were disappointing. Other than this all other staff members were great.

Great hotel, but I would not buy the trip protection insurance from Travelocity. Bad experience with insurance, you pay them but when something happens they give you the run around. Terrible!

Location: Location is great. Close to the airport.
My Wife and I have been to Punta Cana at least a dozen times. The Reserve at Paradisus was the best experience ever! The Hotel was very nice, the food was very good and the service was awesome! We will go back! Ron & Dana

Paradisus is the best hotel in DR

Pros: Everything
Cons: Pool table, ping pong, interactive games
Location: Close to the airpot, central to day trips which you book in the hotel lobby or on the beach.
I have been to Paradisus Punta Cana 6 years in a row and each time I am still in awe of the beauty of the grounds, the beautiful crystal clear beaches, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The rooms are so well appointed and clean. How do you rate this hotel a 2, it probably is because nothing really make you happy. I will continue to look forward to our yearly trip to the Paradisus Punta Cana

Paradise in Punta Cana

Great resort for the price, my wife and I stayed the last week of April for 8 days along with 3 other couples. Check in was a little slow and confusing, we weren't told about making reservations for the specialty restaurants, thankfully our friends were when they checked in. We were aware that this was a family resort and we're okay with that however the sound transmits due to a lock off door between units, and we were awakened by a toddler screaming in the middle of the night and early morning for the first 3 days, the staff were great to relocate us to a quieter unit in a different building on the Reserve. The reservation system for the specialty restaurants was terrible, you need to book 24hrs in advance and you need another confirmation the day you are dining, something we never received, although we reserved 4 dinners we were only seated for 2. Beach was great with a reserved section for the Reserve guests, drink service on beach, bar close by along with restrooms, day bed plus 2 loungers under a canopy were easy to get and not overcrowded. One negative was that the name brand liquor was not included in the price, Ocean has great sand, waves were a little rough due to storms, but manageable and safe with no undertow. All staff were great! I definitely recommend this resort, keep in mind that the Reserve does have children you may want to look the other side of this resort or Paradisus Palma Real, we have stayed at the Paradisus playa Del Carmen very similar

Balanced review of the Reserve at Paradisus Punta

Pros: Beautiful site
Cons: Food, drinks, activities, sly sales techniques
Location: A number of booze cruises, dolphin/diving etc tours.
Being time share owners and having visited many over the past 20+ years I'll try to provide an accurate review. The Pro's: Fantastic landscaping, architecture, pools and beach were very nice and the staff was uniformly pleasant. It was quite easy to reach Punta Cana from the east coast but watch carefully for the packages since they book you on longer routes and multiple connections. Quick ground transport by taxi (35.00 USD) , generally pleasant rooms with balconies. The Con's: All inclusive meals were middling at best and we actually found the buffets had some of the better dinner meals. Wine/other alcoholic beverages sub par unless you upgraded to Royal service 50-60.00PP/day for branded non watered down sources and access to pay restaurants. Very sly in getting people trapped into listening to 2+ hrs of sales for Melia resorts. They claim not a time share but it very much is one with a twist and very expensive. Do your homework before you even think of listening to this including aftermarket sales of the same brand. Activities quite limited on site especially water sports without paying outside/contract sources. Overall, a really pretty place with a beautiful beach (need to walk 10 minutes or take the shuttle since this is a very large site) and multiple pools. Great if that's all you are looking for otherwise given lower food/drink quality and fewer activities I would keep on looking.

Picture Perfect, Poor Personel

Pros: The resort is well maintained, very clean, and perfectly landscaped. Our one bedroom suite was perfect.
Cons: customer service is lacking. When you spend a large amount of money to go to "all inclusive," you shouldn't feel like service is tip dependent.
Location: Location to the resort from the airport is terrific. Swimming with the Dolphins is close by and fun, but expensive.
The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana Resort is picture perfect. The resort is well maintained, very clean, and perfectly landscaped. Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends. The staff provides very limited resort information at check-in, such as how/where to get a shuttle around the resort (because the resort is huge...almost too big...and the reserve although an upgrade is a bit far from the beach/ocean). Everything from how to get/return towels, order from the snack bars, make dinner reservations and find the evening entertainment is on your own. Think that sounds easy...think again. If you're lucky, by the time you leave you may have answers to some of your questions. The food may look good, but keep your expectations low. Fruit may or may not be fermenting. French toast may be so soggy it falls apart. Crepes may be so hard you can't cut with a knife. AlsoThe exception to poor food quality were Vento, Hydro Grill and Bana Wok. They can make the resort all-inclusive because the food and drinks are so bad you don't really want to consume them. One exception to the rule was Celso. He was an exceptional waiter and provided excellent service. Also, it took three days of requesting a hair dryer (that was supposed to already be in the room) before one was delivered. Maybe your experience would be slightly improved if you are very fluent in Spanish and like to hand out $5s or $10s like candy (so much for all inclusive). Those people seemed to get significantly better treatment
