Pros: everything the staff, the rooms that bed amazing!! the food lobster and shrimp all the time, loved that in the buffet..
Cons: swim up bar in the pool, the adult side needs this!! :)
Amazing time, my cuz had her weeding there on the rooftop, beautiful!!! the hotel was amazing! nice no stress, adult only time loved that.

Luxurious Resort on the Beach

Pros: Luxurious beach front resort with everything to entertain yourself right on the property. The multi-lingual staff were very friendly & happy to help.
Cons: The rooms could use a DEEP CLEANING on walls and floors especially in the bathroom and shower areas.
Location: Great location about 25 minutes from the airport. This resort has EVERYTHING. No need to leave the resort complex.
We enjoyed our stay at Barcelo Bavaro Beach Adults Only Resort. It is a luxurious Resort with all amenities. The tropical landscape and beautiful white sand beach, and pool are constantly maintained in pristine condition. The staff are all multi-lingual, and so speaking English was never a problem, and they all are friendly and will pamper you. This resort is enormous so riding the mini-train to different areas was enjoyable & fun. Speaking of fun, the entertainment is excellent. Loved the live music, the fun contests, and the evening live presentations were top notch. The numerous restaurants had delicious food with gorgeous presentation & service. Safety here was never a concern as you could see the security team at work 24/7. I loved the covered walkways with terrazzo stone flooring with shell & leaf impressions. This Resort has it all - spacious rooms with awesome views and every thing you think of to do. They even made us all feel safe and took many precautions when Hurricane Irma came our way.

Awful Vacation!

Terrible vacation! Buffets covered in flies. Drinks had little alcohol. Lucky to get towels and wash rags from housekeeping. Staff was indifferent and unhappy to be there. Food in restaurants was pre cooked and microwaved. Salad bars in restaurants covered in flies. Seaweed and trash covered ocean. Palace pool had lots of trash in it. Entertainment was mediocre. Got lots of mosquito bites.

Overall the experience was very good compared to other resorts I have stayed at before. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I really like that they have many restaurants and a good option of good choices and the food quality was very good.

Great hotel/staff and the most beautiful beach

Pros: Everything. On the beach, great chefs, fabulous helpful friendly staff, the petit train to move around, the vegetation, the peacocks
Cons: La Fuente Restaurant entrees. The desserts are fabulous and so is the staff. The cod fish was very bland, another meal left a lot to be desired.
Location: Best location in Punta Cana. Go to El Cortecito, swim with dolphins, horseback riding, sailing, Las Terrenas (gorgeous beach), Altos de Chavon
Beautiful set up, great location, on the most beautiful beach in Punta Cana, professional friendly staff, great food

Nice resort but over-priced.

Cons: Everything!
Location: Nothing. Everything was there for us.
No free WiFi and when you purchased a WiFi pass, the WiFi was down often. We had to take the a Troly to the Casino just to get free WiFi service and it was down for some time before it was available. Housekeeping did not provide wash clothes for the bathrooms our last two days of a five-day stay, notwithstanding that we tipped them everyday. Good beach, good evening entertainment, old remodeled rooms and bathrooms. Overall, the resort is over-priced for what you receive.

Great experience(paid extra for wifi)

Pros: The word that comes to mind is "options". You have so many options for everything that its really hard to get bored or tired of anything here.
Cons: Im sorry but charging +$10 a day for wifi use is pretty ridiculous. I could understand a $10 total fee, but $10 a day???
Location: casa mofongo is outside the resort but you should go. cab is 15-20 bucks. They push the club coco bongo but it more of a show than a club scene.
I truly enjoyed my stay here at the barcelo bavaro beach resort. The staff is wonderful and so very accommodating. I had freedom to use all amenities across the resort and it made for a really great experience. The buffet is just as good as the restaurants and the Beaches/pool are perfect. If you want to decompress and not have to exert too much brain power planning, this is the place for you. The layout is easy and paradise is pretty much dropped in your lap. All you have to do is enjoy. Thank you! Coming from a bartender, The lobby bar at beach is the best bar on the resort. From the liquor selection to the service and vibe it is all superb. (thank you Junior and Angel) The entire front desk team are so helpful. I was lucky enough to have a sweetheart to help throughout my stay. (Mayra <3 you are the best)

Disappointing

Pros: The proximity to the beach was good. The view from the property is pretty. Good amount of activities and water sports available. Great nightly shows.
Cons: Staff needs training, there is no consistency with information given. Rooms needs to be updated/repaired.
Location: Guest services helped with planning boogie/ATV excursions that was reasonably priced.
Stayed for a week with with a group of friends and family and each of us got inconsistent information. Reservations at restaurants were hard to get even though restaurants were empty throughout the night. Staff seems to have difficulty conversing in English and were at times rude. The property needs updating and rooms smelled like cigarette smoke. Changed room and in the new room, the refrigerator was not cold, air condition was not functioning properly, one of the bathroom sinks was clogged, bedding are old and stained, and toilet smelled like pee the whole time. And the food is mediocre.

Hotel was beautiful - but a few disappointments

Hotel is beautiful, but unfortunately good food and cleanliness just isn't enough for my husband and I. It's all about the experience a place gives you and this hotel needs work with their staff and service. Very few spoke English, and when they did most were not helpful or friendly. There were only a few that were. We loved Filamina in the Caribe buffet. She was great! Our housekeeper was ok. We felt like we were annoying the staff if we asked a question and even when tipping most acted like they could care less. We loved the climate and beautiful hotel along with a nice beach. There was quite a bit of seaweed which can't be prevented but wasn't appealing to stay in water long. Also at airport very very confusing and no communication there as to where to go or what to do. People were placed on lines waiting with no service at counters and no explanation either unless you tried to ask. If you chose helicopter helidosa excursion with lunch do not let them try to talk you into paying additional money. It's a scam to try to get you to pay more money than what you already paid for and your getting nothing extra. They try to make you think you are. So due to these circumstances more than likely we will not return to DR.
