Rosita Hotel is the oldest hotel in Puerto Vallarta. Great location on the Malecon. Easy walk to restaurants, shopping. It’s a no frill hotel…no coffee pot, air dryer. Has nice restaurant and pool along with a great view. Will stay again.

The oldest 4star hotel in Puerto Vallarta. I love the old furniture and the look of the property. It is at the beginning of the Malecon and easy access to bus, Uber or taxis. If you go other directions you have the most wonderful foods. Many of the restaurants are regional in their food styles. A taco at one taqueria tastes completely different than the one next it. Sorry got carried away. The staff was very helpful with our limited Spanish, and always tried to help us find what we were looking for. I was constantly at the bar getting ice and they never acted like it bothered them a bit. We only used room service a few times but it was hot and tasty! We enjoyed our stay quite a bit. You do need to realize that with the convenience of being located in such a fun area it can be a little noisy in the evening if you have a street side room. I would recommend an ocean view if you want it quiet. The staff is very diligent about health regulations!! This is taken very seriously in any building or business.

A good location wasted on a poor hotel.

Pros: The location is the hotels only redeeming feature.
Cons: The whole mood of the place seems to be shaped by the goal of minimum yet sufficient. This was characterized in the hotel, the room, and the staff.
Location: Vallarta is one of my favorite Mexican cities. It's super accessible. I always feel welcomed while wandering and always see interesting things.
I booked through Travelocity, which was convenient, but potentially misleading. The photos of the hotel did not fairly represent the hotel rooms. The room we were given was what I would expect at a no-name hotel on the side of an interstate in some fly-over state, whereas the photos showed a much prettier picture. I get that this is common in advertising, but the degree of difference was pretty extreme in this case. We only stayed one night, as we had a day in P.V. waiting for a flight the next day. We didn't pay a ton for the room ($85), so had low expectations. If I'd paid more I would have been angry, but instead I was just disappointed. The mattresses were better than nothing but little better sleeping on a carpeted floor in terms of hardness. The water pressure was sufficient, but barely so. The room lighting was fluorescent and gave off the feel of an office space. The door knob, and lock, were worn out and I half expected the key to not work. Everything was 'good enough' but just barely. At about 8:30am the cleaning staff started and they are talkers. I get chatting during work, but they were pretty loud and didn't adjust after we mentioned it. Otherwise, the staff was never actively rude, but also never pro-actively friendly either. The included breakfast was a few bits of fruit and coffee/juice, OR an undefined credit towards the stuff on the menu. I ordered the machaca con huevos (it was pretty good), and they reduced the price from 95 to 75 pesos, so about $1.

Clean hotel with helpful staff. A bit older facility but well kept. Mattress was a bit hard. Right in the Malecón so location is hard to beat, but can be noisy at night. Restaurant was very good.
