El Norte - 3bdrm, 2bath, Heated Pool, Walk to Asu

This remodeled 3-bedroom, 2-bath house is located within walking distance of Arizona State University and Mill Avenue, which is the heart of downtown Tempe. City bus routes and a light rail system make this location quite desirable. The property is close to Sun Devil Stadium, Grady Gammage Auditorium, Tempe Center for the Arts and Tempe Town Lake, which is the home of the annual Ironman Triathlon and many other events. The AZ Cardinals stadium is a 30-minute drive away so this property is a perfect location for AZ Cardinals games and the annual Fiesta Bowl. If interested, the owner often has extra AZ Cardinals tickets. The nightlife of this college town makes this home ideally located for those who want to vacation in a quiet neighborhood close to where the action is. Since the property is very centrally located in the metro Phoenix area, you can hang out in Tempe or go anywhere in the metro Phoenix area very quickly and inexpensively. Executive as well as designer golf courses are nearby. A short drive will take you to numerous spring training facilities. The Phoenix Zoo is less than five miles away. The living room, bedrooms and the backyard are equipped with cable television. The interior of the house is fully tiled and newly furnished with contemporary furniture. A swimming pool -- heated during the cooler months -- accentuates the covered patio and gas grill in the backyard. When heated, the pool heater is set at 88 degrees but, if the outside temperature gets too cool, the pool temp may not reach 88. That doesn't happen often but it does happen occasionally. There are wet suit tops in the laundry area for your use. Those will help. If you are bringing dogs to the property, please try to keep them out of the pool as dog hair can seriously clog the filtering system. The laundry room is located next to the pool. The property is also conveniently located only 4 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. You will see and hear an occasional plane while sitting at the pool, but that is actually quite enjoyable. With the house's dual pane windows, you will not hear airport noise when inside. We call this property "El Norte" because it is our only property on the north side of the street. El Norte can accommodate 6 guests but, if you need to find lodging for more, we own another vacation rental across the street. You can see it at VRBO.com/395773. It also has a pool. You will not be charged a cleaning fee at any of our properties. El Norte can accommodate a family gathering but cannot accommodate a large event. If you are planning to host an event of any size, please clear it with the owner at time of booking. Our hosts were the most responsive I’ve ever experienced. Excellent communication, and response was same day. They obviously are keen to make their guests satisfied, and we were. The property was maintained and it was wonderful for our dog too- it has real grass, and Mitchell Park at the end of the block- so you can’t beat that for dog friendly.

Volleyball tournament refuge.

This wonderful home is in a quiet residential neighborhood that is very close to parks and freeways making transportation very easy access to both Phoenix and the East valley. Shopping and rest were also close. The house was wonderfully furnished with everything we needed to prepare our own meals and the pool and backyard was beautiful.

Wonderful ASU Graduation Stay

Our family absolutely loved El Norte as our home away from home during ASU graduation week. The home is spotless and beds are very comfortable. Home felt open and had great flow for graduation festivities. Kitchen had everything we needed, including large crockpot and 2 coolers. We really appreciated all of the Kcup pods for coffee selections. Shirley and Pete are amazing hosts and made us feel like family. Thank you so much! We highly recommend this home and convenient location to ASU!

Had a terrific time in Tempe! Communication from host was great, very easy check in and out. House was very clean, well furnished/stocked and was perfect for our family of 4. House is located in a neat area, just a short walk to downtown Tempe and the ASU campus. Would definitely stay here again!!

Comfortable Stay

We spent 5 nights here. This is our second stay in this home. We have also stayed in another home listed by the same owners. I would highly recommend both. The house has anything you would need and a heated pool. We did use the wetsuit tops this time because the temperature was in the 60’s. They helped a lot. We also walked to ASU campus and Tempe Town Lake from the home. There are quite a few restaurants in walking distance. We will choose to stay here again.

This property comes fully stocked (delicious K-cups, all the spices and baking essentials, plenty of toiletries, pool supplies and more!) which was amazing! Shirley is very quick in responding to all inquiries and ensures you have an enjoyable stay. Great location within walking distance to lots of great restaurants and Tempe Beach Park! Car show and caning reunion

3 Friends, my dog, and I. Wanted to go to the Barrett-Jackson car auction, AND my dog's brother is in same town so I brought her. House was nice, really loved the pool. Dog park 1/2 block away was a big plus. Dogs let us down as they did not recognize each other (5 years apart) so no tearful videos. Real grass by the pool was nice too.

Comfortable and relaxing

Our family stayed here for 6 nights while visiting our son in Tempe. This is our second time staying at one of Shirley and Pete’s homes. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed the pool in the evenings. The neighborhood is quiet and easy access to ASU, restaurants, and grocery stores. I recommend trying one of the huge grapefruits from the tree in the backyard. We will continue to stay at this home and Shirley and Pete’s other home a few doors down.
