Weekend Philly Getaway
Perfect place, everything was exactly how it looked in the pictures, the communication with the host was great and the location was perfect. Close enough to everything but yet still quiet and relaxing and even parking was easily accessible. Would definitely recommend

Old City Home Away From Home
We traveled to Philly to learn history. We were close enough to walk to many places we wanted to visit. The beds were very comfortable. We appreciated having a washer and dryer. Climbing the steep, narrow stairs with suitcases wasn't easy. People looking to book need to consider 2 flights of stairs.

Great location but not what I was expecting
The property here is in an extremely ideal location. Minutes walk from all of Old City Philadelphia. The full kitchen is nice as well. Now to the negative. The pictures of the furniture that were shown with the listing was not the actual furniture in the apartment. In fact, come to find out after some research, the photos that were within the rental listing were actually the photos used by the previous owner when they sold the property a month ago, unfortunately they don't let me link the listing in this review. When we arrived the furniture was obviously not designed for tall or large people, if you're over 5' 5" and 100lbs be cautious of using any chairs in the kitchen area. I understand this isn't going to be the Ritz or Marriott but I was expecting something more than a bed 2 inches off the floor with a mattress so skinny it made you feel like you were laying on top of the wood slats used as a box frame. If the pictures were accurate in the listing from the beginning I'm not sure if I'd have rented it. When it came to trying to communicate with the listing manager, any messages or questions that I would send would go unanswered. All I would receive are obviously just standard messages that they send out at regular times based on the rental. Even when I received these if I responded with any kind of inquiries I would not receive a response.

Home Away from Home
Overall stay was good in reference to apartment. Space met our families needs. Loved the washer and dryer. Very nice refrigerator. Walking up 35 stairs was challenging. We got our exercise. 😉Sadden with neighbors in D4. Extremely loud parties 9pm-4am. Smell of marijuana. Not good for our children.

Nice to be back
This was our second time renting from Avi. These apartments are located in Olde City which is a vibrant section of Philadelphia known for its independent art galleries, restaurants and shops. Havana Lofts are very typical of the type of converted loft-style properties you would live in if you were a resident here which is why we chose it (lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years before moving to Toronto).
It was nicely located just north of the main activity in Olde City. Our apartment was a 3rd floor walk up and located two doors away from where we rented in December. It was very similar to the first place and in some ways better. It was a little challenging with 2 small boys but they actually had fun climbing up. There's a convenient store and a nice breakfast place a few doors away (they were closed for the Labor Day holiday but normally open). Nonetheless, there are a plethora of choices both north and south of the apartment. Make sure to bring your own laundry detergent. Parking was easy this time around since most of Philadelphia heads to the Poconos or the Jersey Shore for Labor Day.
Avi was prompt in replying prior to us staying there but I didn't hear from him about a few small issues. He did apologize and it didn't affect our stay in any way
I think we will start making this our HQ everytime we are back in Philly!

Convenient locale
This property was conveniently located in walking distance of the city’s major historical attractions, and it included all necessities for our family of three. We had an enjoyable vacation here. I would just suggest including in the listing that the unit is only accessible via two flights of stairs. Not a major issue for us, but for some guests it might be.

Philly
The apartment was spacious and in a great location for our trip, as we were taking the river link ferry over to Camden to see a couple concerts. Well stocked, but could use a couple coffee mugs. And, the stairs are steep, so if one has mobility issues, I wouldn’t recommend, but it worked out really well for us. Walking distance to Market Street, Betsy Ross House, China Town.

Visiting the Historic area
This apartment was perfect for our needs. We walked to the historic area everyday and back. While there is no grocery store within walking distance that we found, the cafe downstairs had excellent food and there were many little cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The apartment is spacious. Bring your own laundry and dishwasher soap (small one time capsules are easy to pack). Checkin and checkout were a breeze and we were able to leave our luggage early before checking in. We’d stay again

Not as pictured! What you see is....maybe what you get?
The owner downgraded us without notice to a different unit that had not been renovated, and stopped communicating after I pointed out that functional does not equal "recently renovated." Leaky toilet, old fashioned slippery tub with no mat, and homeless drunks in the alley screaming at 1:30 a.m. does not make an oasis. On the plus side, we could walk to everything and the unit was at least clean, if a bit shabby.
Also, for families - if you're going to give it a go anyway, consider for kids ages 7 and up. My tall 5 year old could not reach either sink, no step stools, slippery tub, lightweight furniture prone to tipping, etc.

This was a very clean, affordable, and livable place in Philly
Short version: I highly recommend this home.
My brothers and I were looking for a pleasant home-base in Philly where we could relax while being in Philly. This place provided everything we needed, and even included features we did not need. Parking was easy to find if you looked before everyone in the area was settled for the evening, and there are 2 local garages if you can't find a spot. It was easy to find the place, and the locks worked as expected. The owner was very pleasant to communicate with too!
