We had high hopes for this house, as the styling was to our taste and featured a heated pool. The agent who greeted us was very helpful, providing a welcome bottle of local wine and some coffee.However, we had some issues that can not be overlooked.Firstly, the pool is not heated ! Initially, we thought it was warming up , possibly the first let of the season? But it remained cold, 22 degrees cold, the same temperature as the tap water in the house. Our children refused to use it, and I only braved it a few times. Usually, we are in and out of the pool all the time, but we were unable to this year. We did raise this with the owner during the second week, as the agent was unable to address this issue. Unfortunately, we had no reply, and no action was taken to resolve.There is no air conditioning. I know we should have double-checked the description, but we wrongly assumed that a new house would have AC.There is an automatic blind system that helps keep the house cool, but it still remained quite hot as we were unable to open the windows to provide cooling due to the mosquitoes.The extractor fan in the kitchen did not work, so when cooking, the heat built up considerably, making it uncomfortable.There was no smoke detector, which is against French law.The freezer was 2/3rds full of the owner's food.The bath tap was broken.The bathroom mirror light was broken.There were a number of power sockets that did not work.The sun loungers had no cushions, so unusable.
