Paradise Disaster
We were looking forward to this stay since it was our first Christmas in Florida. When we first arrived we were met with large dark stains in the carpet in every bedroom. It was apparent that this was a party house. Then we realized the back porch light did not turn on. It wasn’t the breaker or the bulb, the light was just broken and neglected. Then we looked and saw that the air intake screen was filled with thick dust. The bath towels had stains on them and were rough and hard. To top it all off, when we woke up the first morning we realized the coffee machine did not work. So no coffee. We quickly reached out to Salty Dog property management. And they were quick to try to make amends and asked if we wanted to move to another rental. They came by the next day to bring fresh towels and a new Keurig coffee machine. We appreciated the quick response, but We wish we would have taken them up on the offer to move. Throughout the week all we discovered is how run down and neglected this home is. When we showered we saw the metal shower rod was completely rusted. Then we noticed the shower curtain had black mold at the bottom. Also when I was preparing Christmas Eve dinner, we realized there was no can opener. The knife set was rusted and the vinyl handles were peeling off and was dropping into our food. Needless to say I couldn’t use the knives. Then the oven started to smoke while we were just pre heating the oven. There was just one thing after another. Very disappointing.
