Mesmerized by powerful nature taken in from a wonderful lanai overlooking colorful plants with playful songbirds you will want to linger, relax and just be.

Our Beautiful Off-grid Home is a short drive from all the famous places this area has to offer, Uncle Roberts, Kehena black sands beach and Pohoiki hot ponds. Yet instead of "living" in the oppressiveness jungle, here on the lava Its all about the breezes. Getting the best of both worlds makes you feel like you are on a vacation in paradise.

When you come, the first thing you notice here is you are NOT too hot because of the reliability of the coveted trade winds. You are kept refreshingly cool and dry all day long; but in the evenings, unlike elsewhere on the island when it typically can become chilly, damp and cold, trade winds here stay delightfully warm because of being thermally heated by the lava.

From our strategically placed home and its 4 comfortable lanais you will love the exquisitely balmy breezes that bring romance and wonder to an evening of vast sunsets, followed by breezy nights of panoramic stars witnessed to the sound of crashing waves. In the morning a brand-new sun can be seen rising out of the ocean welcoming you to another exciting day “out on the lava”.
Each room has a fan provided (but the reliability of breeziness at night and during the day here means that they are not often needed, unless a window needs to be closed to not let the rain in.)

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE HOME:
Although this area is known for much fewer annoying flies, biting mosquitoes and noisome coqui frogs of course we do have some, albeit much less . All doors and windows have screens to help keep them out, but please understand it is impossible to make the home completely impervious to the clever geckos. They are well-loved and very tame because of being extremely benign and entertaining. They will want to share the home with you if you let them so please do not encourage them inside by leaving fruit out (they love fruit flies). If you do not enjoy the ones that do manage to “break-in” (and will need to be cleaned up after) we can be contacted for live gecko removal and cleaning while you are out on your island adventures.
